The gear pants should be made primarily for function. The fashion version will be made so that it drapes in a particular way. There is some crossover, I think, and you might be able to "get away" with a particular pair in either direction.</p> <p>You can also tell by how they are styled in the photos. Are the brand names available? You might be able to Google and see if the brand is gear vs. fashion.
