Your doggie looks like you! :)
I like outfit #1 with the touch of white layered on top especially.
The long boots are fine, you could wear tights (thicker) with the booties for a change and still keep your legs warm too.

Love the WIW shots! #1 is one of your best! What about the booties or tall boots with the look in photo 3? I'd suggest a more substantial belt -- red or brown with the last look. I think the taller brown boots are best here. Love red and brown!

Love the black and white high contrast outfit in #1 Karie - cozy with lovely layers. And the chambray shirt you're wearing with the wine and red skirts fits you perfectly. This is a great piece for your wardrobe. I like the combination of the red skirt with the short brown booties but them I'm a booties kind of gal. I do see what Day Vies is saying about the chambray not being as colourful next to your face but I think that could be resolved with a brighter coloured lipstick.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions! I was actually looking for a T to wear under the chambray this morning - I agree with Day Vies about the chambray washing me out. All I could come up with was a white one, and, as much as I love the good 'ol US of A, do you think that red, white, and blue combo would be too much?

I love faded denim with red -- I think your instinct is spot on for this color combination. I really like you in strong vivid colors. I think I noticed it in the dramatic change from #1 to #2 especially. The chambray near your face seems to rob you of your sparkle. I think a scarf necklace or a crew neck tee in red or white (or some other strong color) at the neck of the shirt will really help the faded blue work better near your face. I love all of these combinations. My favorites are #1, 3 and 5. I especially love the belt in #3. And I like the brown boots with the red/ blue combo better.

I noticed that in your inspiration photos, they wore a brown belt. How about swapping out your red belt for the brown one (#3?), and then wearing your boots?

Where do I start? I love your WIW. That tweed skirt looks fabulously versatile. I like how the cream sweater breaks up the black a little near your face. I love #3 as well and I would wear that skirt with the tall brown boots in #5 in a heartbeat. You could even try some darker tights too. Red and brown is a favorite combo of mine. And belting over the chambray shirt is really working for you because you look like a Pilates *graduate*.

Photos 1 and 2 - Yesterday I wore my black/teal/green/yellow/off white tweed skirt. It's very comfy and has become a go-to favorite (it doesn't need to be ironed!). If the weather would warm up a bit, I would wear it with a black button-down, but it was very cold and damp so I wore it with my black turtleneck. The short sweater is off-white with a touch of pearly silver in it. It angels forward in the front and is shorter in he back. Black fleece lined tights and black boots kept me toasty warm. And I was photo-bombed by Cosmo Edward, who was anxiously awaiting his supper.

Photo 3 - Today I wore my wine colored pencil skirt (it looks brown in the photo, but it's wine with a brown undertone), brown loop belt, chambray button-down (cuddl dud worn under for warmth) micro fishnets and brown boots.

Photos 4 - 8 - Now for my question - I was playing around with my red pencil skirt and chambray top - my inspiration photo is #7 - and trying it with my brown boots instead of shoes (it's so cold and snowy outside!). I always wear my black boots, and I'm trying to wear my brown boots more often. Anything worth wearing in public here? Dark brown boots, cognac boots, or light brown cowboy-ish boots or should I give up on the boot thing, wear shoes and have frozen legs? Perhaps instead of the micro fishnets, brown tights would work better, as in the last photo?

After about a hundred more Pilates classes I might consider tucking in the top, but for now, untucked with a belt will have to do.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome!
