I ignored the brush and sponge that came with the kit and just used a small, flat paintbrush (artist's brush, not housepainter's brush). With a steady hand, I could bring the dye right up to the piping without going over. </p> <p>Una -- definitely give it a try! Inspired by Rae, I got hold of a Tarrago shoe dye kit and voila -- now they are an antique silver. I must say, it was easier than I thought to dye the colored part while avoiding that white piping. </p> <p>I also replaced the button on my NAS Classiques jacket with the vintage cut-glass one that I spoke about <a href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/hack-or-hold-back">here</a>.</p> <p>Hackety-hack, don't talk back... </p>
