Hi everyone. Just wanted to chime in- I've gone to the store in New York and gotten a fitting and the service really was excellent. The shirts are now the only shirts I wear because they really do manage to fit. I wear a 34DD and not only does the sizing help but I actually also like that they put extra buttons at the bust. It helps them to stay closed for sure and it also gives me more choices about how low to unbutton it (if I'm going out after work I'll unbutton an extra one or even two without looking slutty). I ordered custom shirts from their Insignia program, where you pick the fabric and buttons, and they offered to give me an extra button at the neck but I never close it all the way anyway so I left it off.

Also, I don't know if this is of note anymore, but I've shopped with them for years and they did just change the fit of the shirts a few years ago. I like the new fit better- it's much more true to size. That's why I had gone in to get a fitting. I just wanted to make sure it was a good fit in the new sizing. Also, my sister got an e-mail recently from them telling me that bigger cup sizes were now available (she wears a 34G and asked to be alerted when they made her size).

I have one from maybe late '07/early '08. It's a military-style olive green linen-y buttondown. I ended up getting the 34D-L, I think, after an exchange. I think I'd originally ordered either a 36D-R or a 34DD-R, and whichever it was, it was boxy and REALLY short (I'm 5'4" but with a fairly long torso, plus the bust, which takes up a good amount of north-south acreage). Anyway, I did an exchange for the 34D (to make it narrower) and swapped out the regular for the long, and I'm very happy with it. Most of my buttondowns don't have collar buttons, and I don't mind the double-buttons on the placket--I think it makes it look a little less "I may as well have gotten this from K-Mart", more dressmaker-y, a little more artisanal. I don't know. I'm nuts. I don't know whether they've changed the fits since then, though. (For the record, I take a 32F/DDD--around a 36.5-37" bust on a 27" waist--I usually wear a 4 or a 6.)

So, if you're at all tall, I might recommend getting the Long if you haven't already. Otherwise, please keep us updated on how it goes!

That's actually why they emailed me Jenava. They wanted to let me know that if I came in they could probably find something that fits me even though their sizes don't exactly match up.

PS, Maya it's good to hear you got a good vibe from them, at least from the perspective of customer service! I'll post and let you know how the shirt fits...once it arrives in Sept (it's backordered).

Edit to add - Maya, not sure if they come in your bra size, FYI. I think 32 is the smallest band size and DD is the largest cup size they offer...I didn't look at their "Insignia" section to see if they can do more customized shirts.

Hi san,
I started at BB...I haven't tried on their regular read-made shirts although I did go in to do so (no one helped me, and I wasn't in the mood to be assertive). I have a feeling that given I am a 32DD (almost DDD) that either their ready-mades would pull or they would be too loose for the look I want. I inquired about their ladies made to measure and they start at $155 and go up depending on fabric. Given than the R & D shirt is $150 without the hassle of making an appointment, free shipping and free returns I thought I'd take a chance!

The shirt sure does look good. Have you compared prices with Brooks Brothers? We know that BB makes a great shirt. However it would be nice to support the small business too if the prices match.

I posted about them once and they actually saw the post and invited me for a fitting at their NY store. I never went because they are still too pricey for me even with a job, but they were very eager to help and came off as being quite service oriented and friendly. I have kept them in the back of my mind for ages after finding out Carissa's line didn't work for me.

Yes, I plan to, Medusa! Unfortunately I just got a message that it won't ship till the 30th because it's on backorder. Probably because my size is 32DD. I'm curious to see how the bra size translates into shirt size...hmm....

Has anyone tried Rebecca & Drew shirts? I've ordered one, hesitantly. I'm not sure about the extra button at the bust and the lack of a button at the collar. Curious if anyone has any reviews of this shirt.

For reference, this is the shirt I ordered:
