I so wish we lived closer so I could have been there to help out. The year following my mom’s passing is a blur in my mind (dad had already been gone for 15 years at that point). I feel like I got nothing done that year except for clean out and sell her house, and you know what? That’s enough. I remember though in that time I also went on my first photography workshop (5 days of shooting in NYC), which in retrospect helped bring me back to what I enjoy and also helped lead me into my future. I really hope you get to do some of the things now that you had to defer while taking care of your dad. You are a phenomenal daughter and person, and you deserve to experience all the peace and joy! This time will get easier, if never truly easy.
