Of course appearances can be deceiving, but in a short catch-up, we don't get much else to go on. If the other person looks disheveled, run down, or past caring about their appearance, it's easy to form the impression -- true or not -- that all is not well. In your case, "looking good" probably sent an impression that you were contented, happily married (to a lucky man!), and that you respect yourself. I hadn't seen him since our 20 yr reunion, five years ago, and certainly wasn't looking to run into him.</p> <p>Now, the weird thing is that after 21 years with my darling husband I am not looking back at this guy but after we chatted and went on our way it occured to me that I was happy that I looked pretty great that day! </p> <p>I was wearing - dark wash jeans, pewter slip on gladiators, dark green longish tank and stone gray cotton cardi. Simple about town grocery/errand clothes but still I had felt confident and good that day leaving the house.</p> <p>How shallow am I to feel good about this lol? We have a 25 year reunion coming up this summer and I will be seeing tons of old friends soon. </p>
