For sure! I'll see how the Silks are and if they're not enough I'll go back for the H&Ms, which were $14 I think.

No problem! I actually got the layering idea from Angie's blog (hee hee). I've never heard of 100 denier tights. Those would probably be really opaque! Definitely worth a try, since H&M is pretty cheap right? If you end up getting them, would you let us know how they are?

Thanks Ana! I checked out the reversible Spanx, but they're out of my budget ($48). I got a pair of "Premium" tights by Silks and I'll try layering them with another pair if they're not opaque enough. I never thought of that--great idea.

I also saw some 100-denier opaque tights at H&M. I might try those too.

Wolford 80 tights are opaque. They are spendy though.

http://www.neimanmarcus.com/st....._sku=I7746

Another option is to buy 2 pairs of opaque tights, and then wear them both. Also, I've heard the Spanx Tight End reversible tights are very opaque. I have them in plain black (not reversible) and they are pretty opaque, but not completely, especially around the knee and thigh.

What you want to look for are tights that have an 80 denier (that's how tightly they are woven--the closer to 80, the more tightly woven). Some tights have this information on the package, others don't.

I'm looking for a pair of tights that are the thickness, weight and opacity of a pair of black microfibre leggings I already have. Actually, the leggings are technically long underwear--ha!--but they work beautifully as leggings. They're completely opaque--no skin shines through on the thighs, for example. I want to wear then during the holidays with some shorter sweater dresses I have. We don't wear shoes inside here in Canada, so I can't really just do leggings with socks and boots over. That's why I want tights. I don't want wool.

Has anyone come across anything like this?
