I haven't seen any pictures of you, but for myself, I have somewhat darker hair and skin than Angie and roughly the same eye color. I find that I do better combining more of a dusty coral color with Citron. I feel like blush pretty much reads like nude on my skin tone, and doesn't create the contrast with my skin and harmony with my hair which I am looking for. So maybe if you aren't drawn to Citron, then try some of the brighter olive green which is readily available right now.

Try a scarf first, and then maybe another accessory. Blush pairs well with black or white as well as burgundy and sometimes red, olive, navy, and charcoal.

Blush is one of my favorite winter colors. It looks particularly good contrasted with burgundy or maroon. It pairs well with navy and and dark green, too, and is great with cream like BG suggested.

I agree with Alexandra - start with accessories. That way you can try out the new color without too big a commitment. Especially of you buy a patterned scarf with a bit of the new color. See how you like it in small doses first. And, to me personally, it would be a less painful mistake to have a scarf that didn't quite work out, than a pair of shoes that I never wore.

I'd go with accessories - scarf and jewelry. I'd try to find some pieces that are mainly one color and also some that marry your new color with the existing colors (neutrals?) in your closet. Then maybe add a cardigan or another topper in the same color.

I think it's suitable all year round. There are lots of blush items available right now. I prefer more of a soft coral (for myself) and have been trying to add a few things in that shade recently to wear fall into winter. Here is one in both blush and coral.

(can't add to finds)
http://www.garnethill.com/line.....tee/417023

Blush is one of my key colors, and I consider it a year-round color. Citron doesn't look good on me, but if I wore citron (or any yellow), I'd certainly consider using it to brighten up a winter look. I think wearing color is so uplifting when the skies are grey and daylight hours are short.

Here are two photos from my wardrobe with blush used in fall/winter looks.

Photo # 1: White jeans, coral sweater, blush scarf, rose gold shoes
Photo # 2: White jeans, taupe shoes and tunic sweater, cream coat (and, not pictured, blush scarf).

I also have a very pale blush chunky sweater that I'd wear with either of these ensembles, and that I often wear with a cream colored skirt, cream tights, and taupe boots. No photo of it, unfortunately. But maybe these can help give you and idea of how some of these colors could work with your own wardrobe and style.

Adding a scarf and/or shoes are always a good way to start experimenting with and bringing in a new color.

I'm trying to work some more color into my wardrobe. I liked the blush/citron post ideas but the problem is I only have one blush item in my closet, a bateau neck, 3/4 sleeve tee, and absolutely nothing citron (the lesser favorite of the two colors). I think the blush loafers are really cute but am wondering if that's the most practical next step/purchase to expand into this color group. Are they considered just a seasonal, warmer weather shoe color? Maybe I'd be better to start with a scarf. Thoughts?
