I've spoken about child tattoos with my friend, who made her first tattoo by fourteen and now she is almost out of new places to stuff with tattoo.
When she became a master she surely asked for kid's ID to make sure he\she is 18 yers old.
Sometimes moms led by hand their sons and daughters when they wanted to get their first tattoo. They wanted to make sure that kids won't do anything they can regret. By the way, if your child wants a tattoo I'd recommed you to learn by heart the rules of tattoo healing.

My DD is graduating college this December (finished in 3 1/2 yrs. Yay to my pocketbook!) I remember when she first started college and "homesickness" is one thing that really hits freshmen in the first few weeks of school while they are figuring things out and making new friends. Colleges offer many activities during move-in week so your DD should have many opportunities to meet people with similar interests.

I remember, also, how tough it was on me with her moving out, but it does get easier with time.

Hi Karen,
As a mom of four girls aged 19 to 15, your angst resonated deeply with me. Thanks for the update - hearing how well you weathered this situation gives me hope for similar circumstances in my life. Cheers!

I'm in "watch and learn"mode......I have young kids and the teenage years ahead are a scary thought. All the best for the college years.

I think many of us could feel for you, these situations are hard! My sons are 10 and 13 and I imagine I have some of these matters lying ahead, hopefully a wee way off!

Thank you everyone who answered my post about my DD running out to get her first tattoo. I really did take all your wisdom to heart and I am so over it now. Your words were so dead on. I think since she was my first child to get a tattoo I was freaking a bit just out of the newness of such an experience. Now if either of my other two kids want tats, I will have already walked that road. She's also the first one to admit losing her virginity (wasn't prepped for that either--). I think there were just too many shockers with this child in very rapid succession during the last couple years of high school. (My hair is really getting white under all this blonde) Now she's out of here and into the dorm world at college in less than a month and I hope I can find peace that she will make good decisions and choices in her friends and what she does to her body.

I think you were right who said the less I resist her the less "fun" it will be to get a shock out of mom.

Anyway, I really thank you for your thoughtful answers to my angst.

Karen
