I always try to drive the speed limit, but I have gone up to 135 km/hr in a 110 km/hr zone, because I get bored and my foot gets heavy. Fortunately I can afford it but it's rubs! Taking a day off work is more stressful for me. I also qualify for traffic school since the last time I got a ticket was over 10 years ago. In California, every 18 months you can take traffic school to wipe out a 1pt offense. You can also have 1 pt on your driving record (remains for 3 years) for your insurance not to go up. This is for when someone gets a 2 pt offense, they can erase one with traffic school and keep one on the record. So basically every 18 months you can do traffic school and have no insurance increases. Darn Traffic Cop wrote me up for a 75 in a 65mph zone. Doesn't everyone drive that speed???? Argh, this was on the way back from LA. *sigh* Another reason for my shopping budget to shrink! I was driving a safe and reasonable speed but I was coming down a mountain and putting the brakes on. Anyhow now that I got it off my chest I feel much better. I wonder if others can relate.
