I had already looked online on the Rack site when I bought the L, and no luck. But now I just looked again, and there was a M there! I just went ahead and ordered the M — I suspect that will be the winner. I agree that the L has a more drama, but is also a bit overwhelming. Funny that I’m buying this thing in three different sizes, but I think the M will work best! What a lovely, soft colour -- now THAT is a pastel after my own heart. Looks great with the scarves. (Also, hi, Woody!!)  So, I don't know if it is possible to do this, but do you have Rack online down there? Or can you get a Rack to see if stock is available in medium anywhere?  I think both sizes work, yes, but in the smaller size, it looks a bit more like a regular anorak when done up (much less so worn open, but...) Today I had to stop at the Rack to pick up an order (‘more on that later), and took a walk through, and this jacket appeared in a Small. I combed through everywhere but no Medium. I decided to bring the S home because it sure feels big enough even though not as oversized as the L. I’m finally doing a try-on with pics. I’m trying it on here with the bulkiest thing I would wear under it — a big comfy hoodie. It’s plenty of room either way, but you can see the S is less voluminous. I can zip up both comfortably, with room to sit or crouch — the side vents and a stretchy panel on the sides mean it’s really forgiving in the hips. Pics 1-6 are the small, all over the big hoodie. Pics 7-9 are the large, over the same hoodie. You can see the sleeves come down well over my hands. With a lighter top, I can scrunch the sleeves, but over a thicker sweater or hoodie, adjusting those big sleeves becomes harder. The sleeve fit definitely feels better in the small. Pics 10-13 are the small over a simple black roomy sweater, the most likely type of thing I’d wear with this jacket, plus a variety of scarves, just to see how some of the scarf collection works with the jacket. I’m pleased that I have several options that go with it really well. Pics 14-17 Woody wanted to get some camera time — goofy boy! I’m leaning towards the small. What do you think? Our nearest Rack has become a total ‘needle in a haystack’ hunt for treasure and you found a wonderful piece. I think it could look great over a column of color with a beautiful scarf as the weather cools, as well as with many of these suggestions. It’s always hard to assess colors accurately on a monitor, but it looks like this green will work with a range of blues, not just denims but maybe some if your brighter blues as well, add in bits of black & silver to look less pastel.
