It's usually a sign to me that what I currently have on hangers is not working for me; I'm not wearing it for some reason. Or it might mean that it is time for my seasonal change-out. I am running into that problem now, as I do every year when the seasons transition. I don't have enough hangers for all of my clothes for all four seasons, so some have to get packed away.
