According to UPS, this arrives in the mail today. Cross fingers it fits. I already own three trenches but I just could not resist the shiny patent ... reminds me of a favorite trench I had back in my 20s! Comfy against bare skin, wicking, and SO light. I would be able to fold it up into a backpack or messenger without straining my neck. LOVE that. This was a big lightbulb moment for me - those three things are pretty much at the top of the priorities list: soft, wicking, and LIGHT (not only for travel but also because it is not very cold here). So the NF has to go back for sure. I may hold onto the Nau as a security blanket and wait see what the Spring lines shake loose. To my eye, it's a brilliant juxtaposition. I prefer the colour of the Nau, but don't think it's the one either. It seems too long for your petite height - especially at the back. The other coats I am selling, they are cut classic but have that juxtaposition with edgier, hard to find colors. The North Face is classic on top of classic. I am so tempted to try the camo one... I found a really great deal on it, only slightly more $ than these after shipping. Maybe it would help to try on the one from Nordies to check out the weight/warmth factor? Oh, I also found it in silver/gray. Zap, thank you for chiming in. If the Nau passes your filter, it makes me feel better, since I know you prefer more refinement than me in general. IDK if that is a bad thing or not... even when travelling, we don't go anyplace that fancy. And if I consider all my boots, the green would go better with ones like my triple-lace pseudo-goth boots. Una, I also am realllly attracted to this one by Ilse Jacobsen, but I'm afraid it would be too heavy for me. Found a good price, but it is overseas so hard to return. Found the shorter one at Nordies, but it's... shorter. And more $$. Vildy, I never thought of it that way, but maybe it is... I didn't find my other trenches boring, but they also were not beige. ETA: I can also hold onto one of these for a while and see what Lulu comes up with for Spring. I wrote to them asking if they had any raincoats planned, and although they said they can't say for sure, it stands to reason that a Canadian company would offer them.
