Gorgeous trench. SWOOOOON! Love the sound of the wellies too. You can absolutely keep wellies on all day if they are comfy enough.

Ana, that's a gorgeous trench! I am sure it will look incredible on you. Some zebra print wellies sound fun too. I think it's perfectly fine to wear wellies for whole day, but sometimes they can feel heavy on the feet so I would bring a pair of ballet flats with just in case.

That raincoat will be a gorgeous color on you! I do however like to have my outerwear have some connection colorwise to what goes on underneath. I wonder if I am alone in that.? I drive my husband crazy when he wears the wrong color coat with what he is wearing underneath. I would wear wellies all day

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I ordered this trench coat, which is nylon, so it should be more rain resistant than my cream coat (which is cotton sateen):

http://www1.bloomingdales.com/.....x-xx.index

I'm so excited! And I have some zebra print rain boots in mind, but I'll have to wait a couple of weeks until my next clothing allotment.

I wear wellies all day and people do it on campus here for months at a time (I am on the Wet Coast, after all). I have these Chooka ones that look like Docs and they are very cute. Unfortunately, they gave me blisters recently I'm going to try moleskin and see if that helps.

http://www.amazon.com/Chooka-W.....B0017RNJYO

I totally vote for a bright, cheerful trench and umbrella.

i don't think wearing wellies all day is a problem at all! i've definitely worked the wellies and cute dress look - i think it works as long the wellies are high and slim, like regular boots. i could totally see zebra print on you!

as for the rain coat, rock whatever color you want! mine is apple green and doesn't go with everything, but nobody sees what's underneath in the rain anyway i also like a cute umbrella, but if you're commuting it may be hard to juggle everything - not to mention that in high winds you need both hands free to steady it!

Ana, I can totally see you in some zebra print wellies. Those sound fabulous! I don't have the opportunity to wear rain gear much but think that wellies could be worn all day on a day that was rainy and when you had the opportunity to be casual. I don't think the look can be more than casual, really.

This is not stylish at all but I have a paddington bear rain hat that I LOVE to wear for walking the dog when it rains. I love that I can forgo an umbrella because I need both hands with the dogs. Plus, the yellow always makes me smile. That is totally unrelated but your question about the rain made me think of it.

I think Wellingtons on a rainy sloshy day is great. Especially if you are out and about all day. Sperry has very nice fashionable and comfortable boots. Theses are the ones I have (Black tweed) my fab $20 purchase at an outlet. I got lots of compliments on them. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/2.....12642.html

I also like the short version, but don't know if I will get them. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/36768513/c/275.html

Zebra is kind of a different animal (:p). I'm talking about giant multicolor flowers or psychedelic patterns, or the kind that look like tall versions of Crocs because of their colors.

My preference is still plain though. Wellies tend to be big and clunky. A subdued color makes them look a little less overwhelming. That's just my opinion. If anyone can wear a pair of zebra wellies, it's you!

I think wellies are perfectly fine to wear all day, just like snow boots. If style becomes impractical or a burden, it isn't worth it in my opinion. Anyway, I'm not so crazy about the stereotypical galoshy-type wellies that have garish colors and loud patterns, but a sweet pair of Hunters, or something similar, would be perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

As for the trench, I don't think it has to match your outfit at all, especially since you'll probably be wearing it closed most of the time. I think it's nice to wear a bright colorful coat on a rainy day.

I can't remember if people have asked these questions or not (sorry if someone has). I was wondering about rain gear--specifically trench coats and wellies.

I have to commute to school by bus, and then I am outdoors walking around on campus all day. Some days, it's quite rainy (you can't see a few feet ahead of you and rain is blowing sideways rainy). But these storms can come up suddenly, usually in the afternoon. If I know it's going to be rainy that day, can I just wear wellies all day? They are heavy, and it's not very practical to carry them with me in case it rains later on in the day.

My second question is about brightly colored trench coats. Do these stand alone the way specs and watches do? Most rain trenches are available in black or some shade of khaki, and I'd rather get one that is a flattering color on me. It might not necessarily "go" with my outfit though. Is this okay?

Thanks for any guidance you can give!
