If it's really raining, I put on rain pants. I don't like wet knees... I buy them at the hardware store, lol.

.invest a couple of dollars a foldup emergency rain poncho....keep it in your car or bag, they're cheap and lightweight, but are lifesavers (really outfit savers) for the unexpected and unplanned for...where i live almost every drug store/grocery store not to mention sporting goods store carries them).

Considering the "rain bombs" and other extreme rain events that Texas has experienced for the last couple of years, I probably need to start looking for a good waterproof jacket/coat/something, as well as some tall rain boots. I have some nice, short rain boots that are well insulated for cold weather, but I am woefully unprepared beyond that. Time to window shop! Going to be checking out some of these recommendations

I'm eyeing this rain jacket from Eddie Bauer right now. I could really use something lightweight and more casual than my trench; I'm set for cool weather rain, but not warm! I like the extra length and flare that will hopefully fit my pear shape. Rain comes with so much wind here that umbrellas only keep head and shoulders dry.

The weather has been so crazy! I showed up at work this morning only to find out that the park closed due to weather and my shift was cancelled. Drove home through the pass just before a mudslide hit and then kiddos school called to se they were closing early because of weather. Luckily, we have raingear at work. I have a pair of boots that are waterproof, and thats about all for my raingear. I would consider a waterproof jacket, but I'm hoping that this wet weather doesn't hold!

Rain coat: would an Ilse Jacobsen be too matchymatchy with your boots?

Her largest size is too small for my shoulders, but I like the feminine cut and the sturdy fabrication.

I have the Helly Hansen Belfast and it is waterproof. It comes in many colors so you might even be able to match your cute boots. I use mine for dog walking and casual wear in complete downpours.

After so many years of California drought, I barely recognize the wet stuff falling from the sky. But with more storms on the way, I decided it's time to relook at my rain gear....which is sorely lacking.

Up first was rain boots - 5 year old Target galoshes weren't going to work. I was hoping to get away a small purchase here, but didn't quite work out.
Sam Edelman's: cute, but the blue rubber just looked off to me. Also, they were too short - I want to go splash in some puddles!
Ilse Jacobsen; LOVE. They fit well, love the lining, and the color makes me happy. I almost went with orange, but red goes with more of my wardrobe.

Up next - maybe a casual rain coat? I have a lovely purple trench from last season that works for business. But I think I need something more fit for running errands in jeans and my new boots. Any recommendations?
