The x-small was a good fit except in the shoulders, and the S was a little big everywhere but fit in the shoulders. The side pockets are slanted and in the perfect hand-warmer spot so are both flattering and useful--as opposed to big patch pockets. Belted is a plus and a minus--more trouble, but this belt seems to allow a casual "tie" and is set lower on the waist, which is good for me, and it's not double-breasted. </p> <p>Have to take it home to see how it works. Although it's casual, I would need it to work as one of my "parking lot" jackets with work slacks/tops/sweaters, and not just jeans, in order to justify it's place in my wardrobe. I was wearing a pencil skirt when I tried it on and it actually looked pretty good with that, so maybe! I would not wear it over another jacket/blazer, but it fits over a cardigan. I got the red because a) it was the obvious choice for me of the 3 colors and b) since it would be more of a fun coat than a super-classic, I can use a spot of color in my outerwear c) it should go both ends of my spectrum split-personality neutrals of black/gray and brown/taupe/camel.</p> <p>The red is slightly more orangey than my favorite red, but still a pretty brickish red and not shiny.
