Big mistake. They Re having trouble getting clients. The day of the mall and strip mall is gone. Except for services like dog groomers and nail salons, things are easier on line. Our latest big purchases have been online Cosco.( car and washer). We are not proud of buying online rather than locally, but the price difference is substantial. We were talking about a new book store relocating to our town. DDIL said she was planing to buy a cookbook for a gift. At the bookstore it was $47. On Amazon it was $15 for the same book, no shipping cost. There's a Sears right next to it, and we were marveling at how Sears used to be THE PLACE. You could do all your Christmas shopping there when we were kids. Tools, appliances, toys, clothes... The one up where I grew up, about an hour from here, is closed now, which would break my mom's heart if she were still around. There is another mall not far from here -- about halfway between Annapolis and Baltimore -- and one of my regular biking and running trails runs right by it. I remember when it opened up when I was young, and it was the hopping place back then. Like the mall in Stranger Things. It’s like the Zombie Apocalypse. I miss Payless Shoes. A new pair of bakery work boots wouldn’t hurt. They had the most comfortable, most practical ones. Their work boots made for good dog-walking rain boots too.
