Hi Sarah,

I did find that Natori has worked out very well! I also found a Lululemon that fit well in a 34F. I found it in black in the store and decided to give it a try — it squeezes the girls down just a bit more, but in a sports bra that’s ok!

Plus I still have two non-racerback ones from Knix that are serving me well too. Four sports bras sounds like a lot until you work out 4-5 days a week!

Hi Janet,

I've tried a million racer-back sports bras, and have ended up with the Champion Show-Off. It's inexpensive, a true racerback, has nipple coverage, and seems to fit reasonably well, even though it doesn't have band/cup sizing. I am 32DD or 32DDD/F, and wear a Medium, which sounds really goofy when you look at their size chart, but it works.

https://www.amazon.com/Champio.....d=3H924LE5

https://www.amazon.com/Champio.....0047FBSZL2

Well, the Natori Yogi convertible bra arrived yesterday — in two sizes. I had a hunch and ordered it in my regular size and one size up in the band. It *fits* in my regular size but feels so confining I almost feel I can’t breathe properly — not good in a bra for workouts. The 34G needs to be fastened at the second tightest hook and the cup is maybe a smidge roomy, but it might be the answer. I wore it around the house for a while and the comfort was really good and it didn’t ride up my back, which is what other 34 bands do. I may try ordering the 34F to see if that’s an even better solution.

I wouldn’t say it looks cute, but it provides support and coverage and doesn’t make a weird shape. The convertible straps cross smoothly in back and stay hooked while putting it on, which has been a problem in the past.

I have a couple more coming to try, but this is the best one so far!

Janet - I could have written your post. I have two Wacoal Lindsey bras that I wear bands crossed in the back and for me at 32F they are pretty close to perfection. I *think* they are now called Sport Spacer Contour Bra (same model number 853302) but I haven't yet found it in the "smaller" bands. It has a foam cup, but I don't find that it gives a lot of bulk.

Hoping you'll update us if you find something suitable.

Kkards, thanks for the reminder of Anita too. I just let go of an old Anita bra that had maybe gotten a bit too worn — it was starting to really irritate the area of my bra band. That’s become more of a problem for me lately — perhaps the skin is becoming more sensitive? I use BodyGlide around the bra band area but it’s still an issue and it’s still red even days after a long day of hiking (when it was necessary to wear a sports bra for most of the day). It was a shame because it was lightweight and not so structured so it felt a bit cooler than my other ones, but I think the lack of structure also meant it was breaking down in support after years of wear. I will check out that brand again!

Thanks, all!

Lisa, thank you — LL has just a couple in my size, or what I think is my size. Historically they never offered anything above a triple D. And my size is the largest cup size they offer, but sometimes a 32G sports bra is too small in the cup (how did I get all this boob? Ugh). They only had a dull green (non zip version) and hot pink (zip version) but I like the looks of the back so much I’m trying them even though they’re probably my least favorite colors they offer. LOL it’s a sports bra so who cares about color, right?

Roberta, thanks! T9 is great. Their options are pretty much the same as BN’s. Nothing quite right for me there, for this purpose at least.

Angie, Wacoal is good! I have a couple of non-racerback sports bras already, so I’m good to go for that. I had a couple of very old convertible ones for wearing under racerback tanks that had gotten uncomfortable so I finally ditched them. With summer coming I wanted to try to line up a replacement but it’s turned out to be harder than I expected. I think I’m getting choosier about comfort. One of the Freya I ordered from BN was close to working but just too tight in the cup, and it was the largest cup size available. I feel like a freak! LOL

Crossing my fingers for the Natori, but their cups sometimes run small, so I don’t have high hopes.

My find collector no longer works- but I have the Lululemon Energy High Impact bra in two iterations : the zip front, which is great, and the back closure one, which admittedly took me a few times to figure out how to get it on and fasten it . It's a bit fiddly, but very effective as a compression /shaping bra . I would recommend sizing up a bit because it's pretty tight around the rib cage . The zip front one is so good you've prompted me to order another one- they are comfortable enough to wear all day but still compress and protect.

I am seeking what is apparently a unicorn: a true racerback sports bra that comes in my size. I’ve ordered a few from Bare Necessities and Knix and all were disasters. I have ordered a couple more from Nordstrom (pics below) and am crossing fingers that one works well.

Most “racerback” sports bras available in a small band/large cup size are the convertible kind, with a little hook on the back straps so you can pinch them together. I don’t find those kind terribly comfortable — being short in the torso means that often the straps have to be hooked together rather high up on my back, which makes the straps dig into my shoulder and neck uncomfortably. They can also be difficult to hook.

I tried a couple convertible types that have straps that can be crossed instead, and I find those much better, but the other details on those bras didn’t work (a bulky front zip closing on one, too padded cups on another — like, seriously? What G cup woman wants more padding?!).

I would just like a nice supportive bra to wear under my workout tops that have cut in armholes — I am vain enough that I like the look without bra straps showing, especially since cute strappy styles are not available in my size (US 32G). Reduction surgery would be nice but it’s not on the table for now. ;-)

Has anyone found a good racerback sports bra? Bras are hard! Sports bras seem even harder.
