All they have left is an 8. And this thing is so big, on the same scale even if there was a zero I don't think it would work.

I've been struggling to find enough length in knit dresses, too. I have one dress that I tracked down in a tall -- even though I'm only 5"6."

The colors of both are perfect. And the light blue St John really is a nice fabric. Donna, the Bela dress is the short one (I don't know that brand.)

Dresses are always tough. I probably try on 25 for each one that I keep.

The first one is a gorgeous colour on you, but ...yeah. Not quite the right size. ;)

As for the length of the second, the less said about these crazy manufacturers, the better. Grrrrrr.

I wouldn't think St. John would run so short. But maybe that's how the rest of their normal customers feel, so that's why that dress is on sale. It looks like it would be a great long-sleeved dress on a very height challenged person! And it looks like the blue dress is actually a 4 on their size scale of 1 to 5?

I think the first one has a potential if you size down- this one is clearly too big.
I won't even comment on the length issue....:-(

Too funny about the hospital dress - I agree I love the other one though, and if it weren't so short.....

Why oh why are retailers having their mfr's make such short dresses STILL? Makes me nuts.

So I was thinking I'd like a warm fall dress to wear with boots. I found these two on good sales at NM. But sizing is soooo weird.

I have never tried anything St John before because of the price, and I don't know if their sizing is always like this, but I look like an escaped hospital patient. This dress is 4. I usually wear 4 or 6 in dresses.

And this other dress is a size 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. I have never encountered this size system before. I chatted with customer service and they said 2 meant small. It is a gorgeous soft greenish blue. I figured if the description said above the knee on the model, it would be about knee length on me. Too short for my test but I hope someone else likes it.
