A fun piece, some great styling suggestions here too. I like the idea to wear it with a sleeveless top now and then in the fall, over a coat.

I sized up with it but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it; when it's cold outside I like to feel snuggled up and the isn't snuggly. I like the idea of a cocoon coat over it, I'll have to see if I have something long enough to get that snuggly feeling

Yes, definitely size up!

I plan to wear mine as follows: On its own over sleeveless and sleeved shirts, over pullovers, and even over a leather moto (Yes, it worked, I tried it!).

I'll also wear it UNDER coats. My one problem at the moment is I don't have a coat long enough. So that's going to be a new purchase as well. But I'm not in a huge rush for that, and I feel I can wait for the right coat, because I think I'll get enough wear from the gilet worn in the variety of ways I specified until I find the longer coat that works best for me. I don't like layers sticking out beneath a coat so this is the issue for me.

I'll probably choose a long trench because I think the combination could work for all but the deepest winter days.

I found the fit on this to be a little iffy for my hips, so I would have sized up too, had it been a good "fit" for my life. However, it's a really substantial piece -- too heavy for a vest for my climate. It's like a coat without sleeves, which for me is pointless. I'm running warm these days and if I'm going to wear something like this, I'm going to choose a lighter weight vest (which I did, while shopping with Angie and the ladies, at a different store! -- I'll post about that later in a separate thread) that I can wear in spring and fall, and layer under coats more easily.

So I get your hesitation. It looks nice on you, but I do wonder if sizing up may make it a little too roomy in the top.

I know what Toronto weather is like and would still wear it under a puffer on very cold days, or under a wool *cocoon* winter coat. My lighter winter coat is intentionally a cocoon shape to ensure that I can wear jackets and blazers comfortably underneath. Given the lack of sleeves, though, I think it should still fit well underneath a regular coat, since its thickness is comparable to a bulky sweater. The best way to know is to try the gilet underneath your winter coat at home and see if you can make it work.

So as you can see from my last post, I went a bit crazy at the NAS

I have the R&B Gilet on hold, and I love how it looks, and I think I could style it a million different ways. But I am wavering bc of my climate. When it gets really cold here in Toronto, I don't think I'll be able to wear it without a coat on top, and I don't think that would be comfortable. For those of you who bought it - how are you planning to make this work? Just layer underneath and wear it for spring and fall? Are you gong to wear a coat on top?

I totally get that this is a special piece that doesn't have to be worn year round...but our spring and fall is so short, it would be limited for me. Would love your thoughts!

Ps - Angie, I see what you mean about the pulling - I would size up!
