And it occurred to me that retailers like Old Navy work for me in a vacuum , where I can just look at the specific item without seeing it in the context of a chaotic store . I wouldn’t have even looked at it in that store - too much other product was stacked around , half of it unfolded , and the general lack of ambience is a huge turn off . But seen isolated on the website , I can analyze it for what it is . This is the exact opposite of what happens when I shop on , say , CM’s website . One comes from Nordstrom's about 4 years ago -- purchased on sale. The newer one comes from Holts this spring, also bought on sale. I get them for about 25% off as a rule -- sometimes more, if I am lucky. The Bay sells a few styles (and occasionally discounts them -- my old white Elsas are from the Bay) and Aritzia also sells them. I never buy full price but they are pricey even on sale in CADs. Still for me, worth it, since they do last and I only buy the styles I know will work for me for at least two years.&nbsp;</p> <p>In the spring, I made the decision that whatever is or is not in style, my perennial favourite jean is a slim BF style -- mid-rise, not high-rise, a little bit of slouch, loose in the thighs/ bum but not too dropped in the crotch, with a moderately slim but still roomy leg all the way down. And because my existing pair of BFs were at least a size too big -- bought when I was at a higher weight, and still wearable, but very, very slouchy -- I wanted to get a pair in my current size.&nbsp;</p> <p>This type of jean for me, on my particular body type, gives the "cool" feeling and factor that I think (??) Amy S. is talking about (although I'm far from sure what she means).&nbsp; Anyway, I always feel effortlessly urban and also exceptionally comfortable in this type of jean, assuming I have the footwear and correct complements up top. It's something about the rise and the looseness at the waist area combined with some structure elsewhere in the jean.&nbsp;</p> <p>It <b>can </b>veer too masculine on me with the wrong accompanying acts and/or if it is <b>too</b> baggy. It's all in the details, right? And Citizens jeans just <b>*get"</b> my body. They always have.&nbsp;</p> <p>My favourite low rise skinnies were Citizens.
