Hmm, Maya, that's good to know. (I've never tried requesting this at Nordstrom since most the jeans they carry are far above my budget, but remembered hearing about the concept.)

Kari, I know what you're talking about and I would not count on it. I called Nordies a while ago to ask about this service and they looked at me like I had two heads. OK that's not true since I asked over the phone, but they sure sounded that way. I think the Seattle Nordies must be special, like how the Apple store in NYC is special and can perform services that other Apple stores can't.

Didn't Angie also make a post a while back about being able to stretch cotton pants if they are too short (or if they shrink in the wash?) I don't remember exactly where I saw it.

Hi JG. If you wash your pants in cold water and hang them to try (don't put them in the dryer), they shouldn't shrink. If they do, you can always let them out later and it will basically be the same thing.

I just have a quick question. Pants are 96% cotton, 4% lycra spandex. I do cold water wash & delicate dry on all my clothes. Pants are the perfect length for me right now. However, I'm worried if they shrink in the length they may end up short. I could live with maybe 1/8 to 1/4" shrinkage but wouldn't be happy with more. I was thinking of taking to the tailor & having 1/2" let out of the hem just in case.... It will be around $20/pair & I have 3 pair. Thoughts?? How much shrinkage do you think may occur on a normal wash? Also, I was thinking if I do want some of the hem let out it would probably be better to do it prior to wearing/washing - agree?

I'll post an update on the Mall of America shopping trip later (I need someone to take pics for me). It was FANTASTIC though!

Thanks a bunch for any feedback!
