<p>Mild winter here too. Supposed to get into the 50's this weekend - crazy for March but I'll take it.</p>
<p>I like you in skinnies but I find I am also liking the drapey pants too. I think I need some for spring/summer. I agree with keeping winter coats and tall boots - I will keep mine indefinitely because they can always come in handy and are timeless - and expensive :)</p>

<p>Thanks, all! </p>
<p>I stopped by Anthro the other day to return some jeans I ordered to try (as I found my winners on sale at Bloomies), and tried on some soft joggers as I’m thinking of trying that look again for spring and early summer. Both of these are nice and fit well. Considering one of those. Also, a couple of nice tops for spring — that floral would transition into summer with the loose sleeves, and the green one spans fall-winter-spring for me, in a simple shape and a color that looks good on me. May go back!

<p>Love your look and the silver platform sandals. I hope the Naturalizer sneakers work out - they're super cute.</p>
<p>As much as I love a wide leg, I think skinnies and tall, warmly-lined boots will always have a place in my closet because it is the easiest and warmest combo for our winter. Wide pants flapping in a -30C wind is not particularly enjoyable. The tall boot helps keep my leg warm almost to the knee, and protects me from the deep drifts that can obliterate the walkway to our garage.&nbsp;<br />Additionally, skinnies work well with my Blundstones, which have been my go-to work shoe lately. (Soon to be joined by the yellow Docs I am slowly breaking in.)

<p>I really like those Naturalizer sneakers!</p>
<p>It was so cold this year we had snow at Halloween. We had no fall at all as it barely got above freezing after that. </p>
<p>Now, it's suppose to be a mild March. I don't know what to think about the weather. All about layers, I suppose.

<p>Agreeing that you don’t know what a season will be like from year to year. Even a warm season can be very dry or very wet. Snow cools the air so that everything is colder for awhile, or you may move or visit an area with a different climate and have different needs for clothing.

<p>Agree with keeping knee high boots that are comfortable indefinitely. I am a shoe hoarder and there has been many occasions where I was glad I had kept a good little worn pair. But I am the anti-minimalist. Like the sandals and sneakers - hope they work out.&nbsp;

<p>The print on the tunic is stunning - nice to have a change up piece when you feel like something different. And I have a soft spot for tall boots over skinnies - I rarely wear it because I don’t have the right pieces but I do like it.</p>
<p>I like the footwear choices but I agree selections will be better in a month.</p>
<p>It has been a hot dry summer - second day of rain since Christmas. We need it badly. I have been wearing lots of skirts this summer.

<p><div>I really like the silver sandals. &nbsp;I would be ordering them right now if I weren’t on a no buy, and if I didn’t already have several pairs of silver sandals. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div>We had practically no winter. &nbsp;February’s precipitation measured 0.13 inch, until we had a tiny, baby snowfall Feb 29. &nbsp;Yesterday morning it was 15F, and today it should hit 60F. &nbsp;Crazy. &nbsp;

<p>Please don't get rid of all your skinnies because you look absolutely great in these photos!<br />Just replied to Angie's post that I got those very sneakers a couple of weeks ago - they're really cute! Pretty comfortable, though I don't find Naturalizer to be the very most comfortable shoe for me. I do appreciate the width.</p>
<p>This weather is crazy. My house was colder than the outside temp yesterday and I went out at noon in a wool coat! 65 degrees, and daffodils are blooming.

<p>What a beautiful top, Janet! We seem to be done with Winter and have gone straight to Summer. Often we get a false Spring, but looks like we’ve returned to drought. I switched my closet out already. It’s downright balmy today.

<p>Here in PA a mild winter also. I too have not worn my tall boots much. I am still wearing my skinnies, craving a different silhouette but simply have a hard time with the wide legs, I have two pairs and NEVER wear them. I absolutely have FOMO at this time of year and tend to buy early and regret &nbsp;it! Will keep my eyes open for joggers and linen blend pants though. Going to use your idea of pulling out some lighter tops and scarves for the next few weeks and see if that helps my credit card stay in my wallet lol.<br />Looking forward to a comfort report on the sneakers.

<p>Taking one regular old cold winter for the team...here in Manitoba &nbsp;. &nbsp;Ha.&nbsp;<br />It's reasonable for this time of year here - hovering around -8C ish. Winter started very early here this past year : in October, so it feels like we've been at it forever. &nbsp;I'm packing away anything true-winter now: anything with "fur", sequins, feathers, and most of my cashmere sweaters. Suede footwear is ready to be cleaned and packed up too . &nbsp; I too love the idea of a cocoon-shaped winter coat that accommodates a blazer or leather jacket over something fitted and strict. &nbsp;I have one pair of tall boots and am good with that. Only wore them with dresses &nbsp;- of which I own 2, lol. &nbsp;

<p><b>nemosmom&nbsp;</b>has a good point. I wonder if the shift from skinnies and the mild weather are somewhat intertwined, or at least a fortuitous combination of climate and fashion trends moving in sync. Then again, you never really loved skinnies terribly much anyway, so it's fantastic to see an array of options out there again.</p>
<p>I'm in the opposite boat as you on the transitional weather. I'm used to short and unpredictably see-sawing transitional months, but now It's pretty much "transitional" weather from October straight through to May. I need to bulk up that part of my wardrobe.

<p>Winter was mild here, too. A few snowy days, and cold, but nothing like last year; I think my parka was worn once!&nbsp; </p>
<p><div>I am with you on shifting away from skinnies. I do love them for weather that requires boots (rain/snow), so I won't pass them on, but I will shift many to the holding zone in case I feel the itch for them later.</div><div><br /></div><div>I am sitting on my hands as far as spring shopping goes, and am laser-focused on high summer.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I love those Naturalizer sneakers for you! <br /></div>

<p><div>The pants are soft, so the high waist is not so bad - I struggle with high waists too! For me, since I work in a cold office during hot weather the weight is perfect, but of course YMMV. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The green pants crease a bit so I'm still deciding.
<p>Chiming in to report it was a mild winter here, too. &nbsp;We got a lot of snow last week, and maybe our coldest temps with -15 to -20degC. &nbsp;However, yesterday it was 6degC and rained all day. &nbsp;The next 2 weeks are well above freezing, so I suspect spring is on the way. &nbsp;</p>
<div><br /></div><div>All 3 of my winter coats saw wear. &nbsp;The new maxi puffer was especially appreciated for the morning gym run, the Christmas parade, and the Arctic day when I had to shovel snow. &nbsp;Otherwise, I was happy with my red puffer jacket or the black pea coat. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>All the pale blue fashion layouts and store windows are yanking my chain. &nbsp;Janet - your top with the Asian motif is beautiful, and I really like how you’ve styled your outfit. &nbsp;<br /></div></p>

<p>Christina, I popped those Madewell pants in my shopping bag while checking out the snake sneakers and some black booties. I sized up for a loose and breezy fit but the high waist is pretty unlikely for me. Curious to see if they are lightweight enough for our warm weather. I doubt they’ll work for me but worth a try.

<p><div>I have so many of the same thoughts as you:</div><div><br /></div><div>Really mild winter here too. I've whittled down how many "just in case" pieces for very cold weather I am keeping even further. The last really frigid winter was about 5 years ago and it may come around again. I did add a long red puffer this year, but sometimes Manhattan is a wind tunnel so je ne regrette rien.</div><div><br /></div><div>Skinnies: I still have a few pairs in good shape. I want to get rid of some but some were fairly new when my silhouette appetite changed. It's hard to find good pants that fit and I do wear them sometimes, so I will keep most for now. I may pass on a white pair for a straight white pair, though, if I can find it. It makes sense to keep your tall boots and some skinnies to go with them.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Spring is often short here this year too, except that half this winter has felt like spring. Your solution is good. I've started looking for lgihtweight pants too because they're hard to find for me and I'm in a&nbsp; pants mood this year.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Please report on the Naturalizers <br /></div>

<p>Yep- happily tightsless today and enjoying newly blooming trees :)<br />
Yes to keeping the warm stuff- the tall boots, hats, and warm coats- as next winter may not be nearly as nice.<br />
It seems to be a good idea to keep a small light-medium colored capsule for the early spring, in these couple weeks that wearing lots of black feels wrong. And yes to a big sandal collection!

<p>Winter has been very mild here too but very wet.l totally agree with hanging onto big ticket items like boots and coats.The weather is so changeable these days you never know when you are going to need them again.l like those snakeskin trainers.l think that they will fit right in with your current wardrobe but be practical and comfy at the same time.

<p>We have had a very mild winter. No snow to speak of. My heavier and longer wool coats got almost no wear, and neither did many of my hats and warmer scarves, but I’m not about to get rid of them. Who knows what next winter will bring? I only have a couple of thicker, warmer sweaters and it will stay that way — clearly, for me in our climate, light knit layers are the way to go for winter. I’d rather have a lightweight cocoon style or other roomy coat to throw over a top with a leather jacket. </p>
<p>I’m all but done with skinnies. I wore them a handful of times this winter, mostly because I wanted to dust off my knee-high boots from time to time. See the outfit in the pics below for an example, with my Stuart Weitzman boots. Not trendy, but I still like that top a lot even though I never wear tunics anymore. I thought about getting it hemmed to a shorter length. But again, not getting rid of my tall boots because they all fit well, are comfortable and classic, and I may get into them more in future seasons. I don’t mind storing them in the meantime. </p>
<p>Spring seems to be arriving here early. I’m trying not to be tempted into purchasing things for what is traditionally a short transitional season around here. But I do start craving lighter color palettes. I’m thinking I should try wearing my white tops more and make do with accessorizing with scarves and jewelry. </p>
<p>I need to look carefully at my spring/summer bottoms. I think most of my shorts still have some life in them, even if they’re a bit worn. I don’t mind a little RATE in summer. Could probably use a pair or two of lightweight breezy utility crops or joggers if I find really good ones. </p>
<p>I would like to refresh with maybe one or two — but no more — pairs of sandals that look very current. I don’t want to buy too early because I often buy early and then find something better later, but I also get a bit of FOMO. I’m a bit hard on my sandals, and these days comfort is Queen! Definitely looking to add a pair of snake print sneakers — I have some very old slip on ones that I love but they’re getting stretched out. Ordering these Naturalizers to try.
