Like April, I also found them TTS. I wear a 7, very occasionally a 7.5 and the 7 fit perfectly.

I also have narrow calves and the laces on these boots are fab.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Will respond to everyone later but I will go ahead with my regular size. I have small calves too.

Order placed!

Elle, thank you so much for offering to go out of the way and try them on. That is incredibly sweet of you!

April, thank you for chiming in on the "stick with your size" side. Also that's a great tip to stalk ebay - I don't know about you, but I need to get my act together and set up recurring alerts.

Traci, I used my 20% signup code from Amazon to order this (and four more pairs of shoes). I'll only end up keeping one pair, but the no-tax + 20% was pretty compelling.

Another suggestion: check eBay. Sometimes new Fryes with the most minor issues (such as getting scuffed in the store) get posted at significant discounts.

oh sylvie! I've been drooling over these babies too! I even had them in my cart last night, all the way up to the checkout and they would have been here today by noon. I didn't pull the trigger, but I'm really really tempted. My husband's response of "No, really, how much are they?" is really holding me back.

FWIW, I was going to order my normal Frye size, which is a half size down from my normal boot size.

eta: If anyone is interested black and can wear a 9.5, I like these even better than the melissa and they're on a great discount.

I have these in brown and I have my regular size (just went downstairs to the boot storage section of the basement to be sure.)

The laces make them pretty adjustable, Sylvie, but I should point out that the reason I got these was that they fit my skinny calves (12").

Are they at Nordstrom? I could try them on for you. I have a lot of Frye in varying sizes but in most shoes am a size 8. I have a wide foot but can rarely find shoes in W.

ETA: I don't see the lace-up ones at Nordstrom, Macy's or Bloomies but I will be near a Bloomies tomorrow & could try the regular Frye Melissa's

Eek! I have great advice, but they conflict with each other.

Rae had to size down. Fern had to size up.

I've never had an issue wearing shoes a half size too big. This would push me towards a 9.

But then, leather can be stretched and these boots run long. This would push me towards an 8.5

Harmonica: They are quite beautiful boots - I think several people on the forum have them.

I went up 1/2 size, from my usual 9 1/2 to a 10. I think they are a little narrow across the ball of the foot, but I can wear socks in the 10.
You made me get them out of the hall closet to check the size, so I got to say hello to them - it's still too warm for boots here, but they'll be back in action soon.

I'm pretty sure this is the style I came across at the flea market recently. I usually wear an 8.5 in most shoes, and usually an 8 in Frye. The size 7.5 I found fit me perfectly in the footbed. I think they should be ok for a wider foot, because I had to tighten the bottom part of the laces a lot.

Do they run small or large?

I'm an 8.5W. I wear an 8.5 in sandals/shoes that are stretchy. I typically size up to a 9 for boots. My Frye Phillip Harness boots are a 9.

I see anecdotes online that people size down in the Melissa's. Should I go for an 8.5 or a 9?

Thanks!
