They have an easier to manage drawstring, they’re more fitted in the waist and high hip, and they’re slightly lighter in weight and a little less nylon-y. I got them in the grey and decided to go back and get the olive too. The olive is a bit lighter and more sagey than the Zara ones. I ordered the dark khaki ones she got in a small. They are a bit heavier and the fabric blend is different. The taupe are more swishy nylon. The dark khaki are heavier. If they had fit just a bit better I’d have been tempted to keep both. </p> <p>Lisa, I don’t know if the leg lengths are the same (haven’t checked) but the issue with trying to tuck them into a higher shaft bootie is the same. Just not loving the effect. I think the leg is actually wider in the red but now I’m curious. Will check this evening. </p> <p>Thanks slim cat - it is possible I might end up with both! I have mixed feelings about the black elements, but they do add structure and are probably what drew me to the pant. I worry a bit about the zipper. My puffy midsection tend to push that kind of zipper open!</p> <p>Jessikams - yes, I can see a chunky sandal. My Tevas might not be chunky enough, but maybe something new is in order this spring. </p> <p>Zaeobi the shoe question will take a bit of playing but it’s good for me that a chunky shoe will work. I actually didn’t mind them with my hiking shoes — odd I know, but I might need an outfit that’s fun and trendy that lets me get away with wearing my ugliest, most supportive shoes! </p> <p>The taupe are staying. They are just too snug. Pictured here are the mediums. </p> <p>I have tried semi styling them here with my Blundstones and black patent loafers. I think I might wind up preferring them with a chunky sneaker or sandals of some sort. I also tried them with a higher shaft lace up boot but I just don’t have the height and I don’t love how the fabric falls when paired with the higher boot. </p> <p>Ideally I would find a pair of somewhat refined cream or brown booties to pair with them. </p> <p>I lean toward keeping these because I have been hunting for a pant in this neutral and I like the trendiness of them (I don’t think you’ve ever heard that from me!)</p> <p>And what about the red ones? Same issue with length. I feel best just cinching the ankle and wearing them long. The black adds some Interesting detail but it’s also maybe a bit limiting. Garage has a different style in orange the might prove more tempting. But I haven’t seen them IRL. </p> <p>Thoughts on keeping either of these much appreciated. Could it be a “lewk”?
