This is awesome! I love the idea. And you could even use some stretchy material for the aforementioned girdle effect. Love it! Thanks for sharing. You really are a brilliant seamstress.

This is a neat little trick that keep jeans looking so much better. I called this PJP - Perfect Jeans Pockets in an old thread :-)
I have also discovered it, but not through my own skill ;-) When I bought two of the same pairs of jeans two years in a row, I had a lightbulb moment why one felt so much better.

Diane, you constantly amaze me with your sewing prowess and I already have a super high opinion of you!

BTW, if you feel a little tug at your hair during the Seattle meet up and look back to see me waving at you sheepishly, just know that I'm collecting a DNA sample for cloning, nothing creepy. Oh, wait, that is kinda creepy. Forget I mentioned it. ;)

Hmm, I think side entry pockets are a bit more troublesome. This technique may help a little, but they may still open a bit.

Clever! You don't by any chance have a trick to keep side entry trouser pockets from bulging, do you? I just sew them shut but wish there was a way to keep them functional!

Yes exactly QG. Although I don't stuff my pocket with things I do like somewhere to pop a tissue so I like to keep the pockets functional.

Great idea. The pockets are useable that way. If you sew them closed toe remove the baggy factor , they are useless. Thank you!

I don't know about you but on some of my jeans the front pockets seem to sort of pull out and up, as in the pocket bag lifts up and then you get a bulgey hip look. Well, I'm in the process of taking in the waist of my boyfriend jeans and while I'm at it I thought I'd fix the pocket problem. All I used was a scrap of cotton sewn to the front edge of the pocket bag and then secured around the zip on the inside. An added bonus is a panel that hold in your tummy a little. Some jeans brands already have this feature, but I thought I'd share this with you as it's so easy.
