Partially because it isn’t that warm, of course, but I also thought the outfit needed the look of a third piece. It isn’t really about wanting to show leg—they just want to be free after the long winter! The playground was full of little kids running, skipping, laughing &amp; playing. That’s how I feel too. Ginger_bred_style’s looks, with the lacquer leggings, heavy makeup, lace insets and heels, are sexier than I want to go. If I wear a youthful Vans dress and a girlish hairstyle, I’m afraid I look like Delta Dawn, stuck in days gone by. Maybe one of the blue tones, the yellow, or white/beige. I’d maybe match a non-paisley color if it were a deep color as deep as the darkest blue of skirt – a wine/burgundy, purple, deep forest green.&nbsp;</p> <p>Regarding the leopard print jacket with the paisley – I don’t think they have anything in common that would make the pattern mixing work. I like pattern mixing, and think it works best, when there is some kind commonality in color. Like if you mixed the paisley skirt with a striped jacket that had some of the same colors, or an even bolder pattern (floral?) in similar rich colors as the skirt.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>However, I think I might be on the “conservative” side of color and/or pattern matching/mixing. Some might find my combos boring and obvious.&nbsp; Guess I'm missing some confidence maybe.</p> <p>So despite what I say, it is the exception that makes the rule – if a combination sings to you, go for it!!!</p> <p>Speaking of rule breaking, check out Etro and Dries Van Noten for the epitome of pattern mixing inspiration. Annagybe, I put on an actual hair accessory for you, instead of using my readers. Textures in #2&amp;3 are velveteen headband, cord skirt, suede jacket, and shiny shoes, plus beads. Might be a little overboard. I want a simple blue jeans jacket. </p> <p>My pictures are all taken on my iPhone SE. The graininess is probably introduced by zooming in. 10 &amp; 12 are in the kitchen. If I stand closer to the camera there, it captures all sorts of stuff on both sides of the room that distracts from the outfit I’m trying to show. 1 &amp; 7 are on the same porch spot as today, but when the sun was in a different position. Now that it’s dark out, there is no way I could get enough light in the porch. Uploading images here does darken them considerably; I was just hoping that might somehow be my devices and they’d somehow be ok for other people to look at. I guess I need to edit them to be a little over exposed. Are all your pics taken on the same device? You might check and see which camera has the highest resolution. In the second set of photos you posted, 1 and 7 look the least grainy, while 10 and 12 appear to be the lowest resolution. Avoiding the zoom lens can help.</p> <p>I really sympathize as I have such trouble taking good outfit pics! Often the image is much darker when I post it here than it appeared on my screen, and then there are the lighting/white balance issues... I admire your stick-to-it-iveness, I've about given up myself.</p> <p>Re today's outfit, I like the tee on you. I agree with Anna that the crochet sweater has a more summery vibe, it might mesh better tossed over a flirty sundress or the like. What about your orange tee with the cable knit white sweater, rolled 501s, and green tennies? </p>
