Yes Elizabeth it is so easy for the new stuff. I just wanted to be consistent with the old & new but it is a compromise You are right about the small chunks being easier too.

I didn't worry about clothes I bought before the app, I just started tracking my cpw on things I bought since. So no help here.

For those of you daunted by getting going, i found it not too bad to do small chunks at a time. One pile of sweaters, then stop. Blouses, then stop. Or do an outfit as I wore it. And when I buy new things, or order them, I pin the article then save the pic, so no need to photograph it.

I have not yet done anything in this regard, as I have a fairly basic phone and the I-pad is DH's domain!
It seems that I am not the only one keeping clothing records in various places: hand-written in 2 diaries, and pics of this years purchases on my mobile.
Thanks for this read Caro, I will re-consider my other options eventually for sure.

Thanks Jewell, I've been putting the estimated "wears" in the notes & reducing the cost per wear accordingly. I guess the only way to be 100% accurate is to give away all my clothes & start again tempting!!!

Funny you should ask this as I was giving it some thought not too long ago. I suppose if you know how many times you've worn the item, you could go back and enter it onto the app's calendar on random dates just to make the CPW more accurate. Or you could add a note that says "estimated CPW" or something similar in the notes box for those items. Once I get the CPW down to a really low amount I don't worry about exact figures anymore. I'm okay to say, "the CPW of this jacket is under X bucks." I do like the CPW feature and thanks for the reminder to get using my app again.

Yes I think so too Suz. I have data in a spread sheet, photos in my pc & WIWs in my phone - very messy This would keep everything in the one place & there wouldn't be any duplication necessary.

Thanks for raising this, Caro. I got the app and never did anything with it because I just didn't have the wherewithal to get started! I do think it could be useful, though.

Well there you go! I am not the always the most detailed person so I missed that:) Maybe I will try that. Obviously the app does way more than I am using it for lol. I have good intentions of using it to it's full capacity but sadly I get bored quite quickly. I can understand where you are coming from tho. Hmm think I know what I might be doing tonight lol

Thanks Deborah - the CPW kicks in when you add the price of the item in the notes & tags section. Or I should say when you put an item in the calendar after having done the above. I think I may be being a little anal, but it's vexing me now :)

Caro I use this app on my iPad and it does what I need which is basically keep a catalogue of my clothes/acessories and outfits. Although it is not up to date and like Kristin, I find taking photos of my clothes a little boring and haven't finished doing that yet. I don't worry about cost per wear and I haven't yet got in the habit of using the calendar and recording what I wore each day. I don't think there is a facility to do what you want re cpw. You have made me think I should sit down and get mine all organised properly.

Thanks Kristin. Taking the pictures was a drag - the quality isn't fabulous but at least I can see what they are The up side was it was great incentive to purge the dross.

You're more advanced than I. I downloaded the app for the iPhone before they had iPad support, then balked at taking pics of all the items in my closet. How did you get past THAT hurdle? ;-)

Thanks for the reminder about the app though - I just checked and now that they support iPad, I might have another go.

I have been taking photos of all my clothing & accessories & entering them into the Stylebook app. I have a few gripes with it, but generally it seems to be more comprehensive than any other app I've seen.

My question is what is the best way to track items that were bought & worn many times before starting to use the app? Some of my clothing is going strong after many years & many wears. Putting the original price, even if I could remember it, wouldn't work. Just guessing the price & dividing it by the (guessed) number of wears seems to be the only way to go. Am I missing something? Have you found a way around this to have CPW reflected as accurately as possible? Should I use a depreciation formula after so many years it doesn't need tracking? Or should I just keep using my spreadsheet?
Thanks for any help :)
