I'm with you--one sparkly item toned down with the other elements. That's how I operate! Love the print.

I would like to see the pants on you with what you would wear. But my gut reaction is go for it. I wear at least one sparkly thing to the day job often and don’t think anyone gives me the side-eye!

I think these are fine for a business casual outfit. If YOU love them, and will wear them, I say keep. DH isn't the one wearing them

“ My theory is that I can wear **one** thing that is a little glam to work, if the rest of the attire is moderate and doesn't ask for attention; for "out at night" I can add a second thing and still be in the limits of my personal comfort zone.”

Exactly what I was going to suggest before I read that that’s what you’re already thinking. Yes. Go for it. They look great!

The jeans have more of a subtle sheen than a bright shine, which may read as more appropriate for clubwear. They're totally appropriate for a business casual work environment. I think you're on the right track with keeping the rest of the outfit uncomplicated and let the jeans be the star of the show.

The jeans look like they could be leather. I used to have coated jeans that had a shine to them. My favorites were blush. In time with washing the shine turned to regular dull fabric and I did not like them as much. I don’t know if this usually happens to coated jeans. None of my other coated jeans became uncoated with washing. I like that you have the look of leather without the complicated care and the price. Black can look rather hard edged if worn with more black.

For sure! Keep them if you like them.

Here's another thought. For you, perhaps glam bottoms work more easily than a sparkly top for work? (Or period). I tend to be the opposite -- I will wear a sparkly top but struggle with bright bottoms -- although, weirdly, patterned bottoms are just fine by me. It's all so mysterious. Anyway, it sounds like they make you happy. So enjoy!

Haha - you got the stamp first go!! *applause*

I was going to say they might be a bit much if your work environment is very conservative, but if it's more relaxed and creative, then they should be good. I agree with your idea to keep the rest uber-simple and 'buttoned up' to offset the funkiness of the pants. Enjoy them!

On impulse, I had Nordstrom send me these pants. I knew they'd fit, I have this exact pant in a different fabric. I was a little hesitant about the fabric, because it has a shine to it, on purpose. I honestly didn't expect that they'd be keepers, and after I ordered them, I read the reviews, and I doubted it more. You all remember that Banana Republic sweater that was an Angie pick before Christmas, the one with the leopard pattern and glittery yarn? I ordered that in black with blue spots and it was **too glittery** for me, because I wanted it for day wear, and I took it back without even trying it on.

I tried them on for my husband. He said that that shine, to him, made them more like club wear than something to wear to work. But. I feel that I would absolutely wear these to work, where I'm on the dressier end of business casual (but other people go all the way down the scale to very casual). I happily wear my leopard heels and flats to work. I wear statement necklaces. A couple of years ago, I happily wore some black leggings with a black pleather side stripe. My theory is that I can wear **one** thing that is a little glam to work, if the rest of the attire is moderate and doesn't ask for attention; for "out at night" I can add a second thing and still be in the limits of my personal comfort zone. I . . . have zero use for club wear in my life. I just don't go to places where glittering at night is what one does.

I **like** these pants, and I'm inclined to keep them, and they would be my **one** thing in an outfit, and the rest of the outfit would be simple--probably a black pullover and black booties with a heel. They don't feel stiff or sticky or scratchy. They do fit me more like a pant than a skin tight jegging. The pattern is created by a shiny overprint in a snake design, you can see it better I think in my phone picture.

So: Please tell me where these pants fit on the Goldilocks scale: too much or just right?
