I agree, it really varies between different washes/colors. Some of mine don't bag much and some bag quite a lot. You can usually tell if you're able to wear them for an hour or two at home before deciding which size to return.

I am actually wearing these today (I really like the dark wash color). I got them slightly sized up because I got tired of skinny-skinnies. They are very comfortable and don't seem to stretch out. I have seen people complain, however, that every pair of GAP jeans in the same style fits differently, and that fabric content varies depending on color etc.

I'd be interested to hear what a SA says. I find Gap jeans to generally stretch a considerable amount during the course of a day.

I wouldn't call the regular customer service number on the Gap site—I would call an actual Gap store. You could access the store locator option on the website and then call a couple of stores that are near you (although to be honest, you could call one on the other side of the U.S. and it wouldn't matter). What you want is to talk to a sales associate who actually watches people try the clothes on all day and who wears the stuff herself or knows of colleagues who wear the clothes. I may be biased, but I generally get nowhere with Gap customer service at the main number. They're basically just set up to take orders and don't generally know much about the clothing itself.

You're right, it may be worth contacting customer service to ask about this.

I don't have these jeans, but when I have questions like this, I often call a store or two and speak with a SA. Often, the people working in the store wear the items themselves and know what happens as far as stretching out, etc.

You could leave the tags on and wear the jeans around the house all day to see what happens. But if you're like me, you'll probably spill something on them and not be able to return them, ha ha.

I just go my delivery of these, one in size 28 and one in size 29, in the indigo wash. This may be a long shot, but does anyone own these? Do they stretch out much with wear? The 29s are currently a better fit; the 28s are wearable, but skin tight/show muffin top. But if these are going to stretch half a size over the course of the day, the 28s are probably a better bet.
