I've tried two stick on deals and both have come off after maybe five wearings. Nuts to that. Now I just scuff up my soles in some gravel... works way better for me. If I needed more, I'd just go to the cobbler at this point.

Im glad that worked for you, Ceit....I actually put the FF ones on my rubber soled boots and it really improved them, lol. Im kind of paranoid about falling, I guess Ive had them on several pairs for 2 yrs and havent had any issues with peeling, wearing out, etc......

The one time I did it too, I took my boots to a cobbler and he did it. The thin rubber they put on works so much better than the home kits or sticky things.

Found them! Im sure your cobbler could do it, but these really work great and would be so much cheaper http://www.fabfeet.com/product.....egory_id=1

I would think so, Suz, especially if it prevents a fall.

I'll ask my cobbler if he does this repair. He'll be so glad I'm not in there to ask him to taper in the calves on another pair of boots that he'll probably agree even if he doesn't usually do this.

Ah. I didn't do it myself.

I took it to my cobbler.

It cost a lot more. ($30) But he put on proper rubber soles (very thin) that do not come off.

It was worth it.

Maybe the difference is all in the adhesive...

I also saw these, which got decent reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Foot-Pet.....d_sim_bt_1

Cant find them now on Amazon/Zappos But hopefully if you have a Target nearby, they'll have some Good luck!

Thanks, B-mom. The ones I used look exactly like the Fab Feet but they were a different brand. (They were actually by Pleasers, the exotic dancer shoe company. I guess those clear heels are slippery...)

But they did not stay on. I'll try this other brand.

ETA:  Am I crazy or are these the same product;

'Fab Feet non-skid tread'
is a peel-off stick-on product that works incredibly great and is very cheap (I got it at Target and believe Zappos or Amazon carries them also) it cost around $3 for a set of two. It was in the shoe dept at Target. Ive used them on nearly all my shoes and boots...cant recommend them highly enough! They come in both light/dark colors to blend with the soles of your shoes/boots and will not leave any marks if peeled off

Suz, you mentioned yesterday that you had put a non-slip bottom on a pair of boots. Can you tell us what you used?

I have tried a number of different stick-on products to help with this problem when the usual "once you scuff up the bottoms they won't slip anymore" approach has failed, but none of them stick once they get damp. I have even used Krazy Glue to affix the non-stick strips, and it only works for one or two wearings.

I keep thinking there must be something you can paint on, but I haven't found it yet.

What's your secret?
