I would not recommend the Intuition blades--- as the blade tends to dull or get gummed up really easily imo and the device often keeps me from getting a close shave and I get tugging.

I have light (translucent before I get some sun) skin and dark, coarse hair. I can shave in the morning and have stubble in the evening.

I would recommend making sure you exfoliate often. Then use a shave cream/lotion that is moisturizing (not conditioner necessarily unless you use one that doesn't have many chemicals, because regular stuff can burn a bit on broken skin/open follicles). I personally like some of the shave creams you can pick up in the "organic" section of groceries, ect. I like to leave it on for a little while before I shave because I get less of the "running a blade against sandpaper" situation. I use a man's razor and change blades often. Then I always make sure to moisturize afterwords--- sometimes using a men's aftershave-- the creamy type.

I have the same problem and the best solution I've found untill now is waxing, then shaving when the hair comes back (but then you don't have to shave every day, because the hair comes back more slowly). Then again, for me, it takes just a few days for the hairs to be long enough to wax :$ And I use hydrating body cream + oil at least 4 times a week, which certainly leaves my skin less irritated.
Hope this works for you too...

If you can get these in theUS I found them brilliant for avoiding irritation when shaving my legs and no need for seperate shaving cream x http://wilkinsonsword.co.uk/wo.....ition_plus

I don't need to shave my legs every day, but I've found using conditioner as my shaving cream works nicely. I just buy the cheapest conditioner I can find.

The hair on my underarms do grow more quickly than my legs and find that I need to give the skin there a break. So I adjust my clothing around my shaving days.

I wish I could help. I use Wen haircare products, and use that to shave with too. Everything else would give me razor burn or I would cut my legs up left and right.

I know we have had a few discussions on hair removal here before, but I want to address this specifically to those with coarse, dark hair. Advice for normal hair just isn't going to work for me.

How do you manage to remove hair from large areas of the body without irritating the heck out of your skin? I know some women can go a few days between shaves, but I can't. I have to do it every single day and it's horrible for my sensitive skin. The results aren't even very good--I still end up with visible black dots all over my legs, especially towards the end of the day. I could live with the less than stellar results if it wasn't for the irritation. I have tried all kinds of creams and razors, including those meant for men, and haven't had much success.

Recently I tried sugaring and found it incredibly painful, but I would honestly be willing to maintain it if I could. The problem is that, like waxing, I'd have to wait until my hair gets long enough for it to be effective, which I just can't do--at least in the summer.

I'm stumped. I'm a great candidate for laser removal/electrolysis but it's certainly not in my budget. What else is there? I have tried depilatory creams and all I got out of that were a few chemical burns. It's so frustrating and I end up feeling so defeated over something I have absolutely no control over
