Thanks ATLynn, I didn't even think about shrinkage! That might just bump them over into the small instead of the xs. Sounds like I'll wear them like you do

I'm a US large in most brands, an XL in some brands and have the EF skirted leggings in a medium. I will say that I think they shrunk just a little bit after the first wash, but that was more up than in. I felt like I lost somewhere between a quarter inch and half an inch on what was already a short skirt. I definitely wear these more as an extender like you say, vs a skirt. I carry my weight in the middle, so showing off my legs is fine, but I still wear fluid and longer tops (anywhere from hip length to shorter tunic or tunics with higher sides) over them to graze over my belly and keep me from being self conscious about my back/bum shape.

Thanks everyone. Gryffin, I was thinking of your sizing and karymk and that's part of what was throwing me for a loop! There's just no way I can take the same size as you two. Yet they both fit, it is just a different look, skirt vs tunic or shirt extender. I'll have to play around today....

Crackers - EF runs very big. You almost always need to drop down a size. I'd say the leggings stretch slightly but not alot. They also seem to accomodate a lot of size variations. I am usually a size 4 and the xs are a little big on me. But karymk which is a 0-2 is fine in the xs too. I would see where crotch point hits, skirt length and width, leg length and see what you like better. It sounds like both fit but you change the look slightly.

Go with the size that gives the look you like better on you. EF runs large, and it sounds like from your description the xs is the way to go.
I am tall and wanted length on the skirt and one that didn't cup my butt, plus as much length in the leg inseam as possible so I went bigger and looser on myself and didn't size down.

I haven't had a chance to put these through their paces yet, so I can't say if they'll stretch out after time. I hope some of the other owners that have been wearing these will reply about that.

From when I tried them on I would say go with your smaller size. I can be between sizes especially in EF and these seemed to run a bit big. Good luck and enjoy.

So I just happened to be walking by the Eileen Fisher store today and the next thing I knew I was I was in the change room deciding between the small and xsmall skirted leggings. I don't even know what happened, some strange lemming force took over! I think I love them, but I'm in between sizes, the small is ok, a little looser, more skirt like and the xs is more tunic like in appearance, which is fine with me. I brought the xs home to play around with, but I'm not sure (and I'm never an xs....crazy EF sizing). So does anyone find they stretch out with a bit of wearing? Any suggestions for up or down if you're between sizes with these ones specifically? They're pricey in canadian dollars so I really don't want to make a mistake!
