I've had success by saturating the stain with vinegar, then rubbing baking soda into it before laundering.

Google laundry soap, lots of options, one is from the Laundress which is supposed to be good.

It probably is from your neck cream. If you make a paste of oxi clean and water, put it on the stain and leave overnight, then wash, that should help. I treat my collars and cuffs with laundry soap before every wash, then every so often I leave my white shirts in a strong oxi clean solution for a day or so before laundering.

Have you tried drying them in direct sunlight? I had some white sheets that yellowed terribly, and the sun fixed it.

I don't have any advice on what's causing it in the first place though. How frustrating!

Collar popping - is that when you turn up your collar? I would hate for you to have to give up neck cream - it's so important - although I guess you would just be skipping it on white shirt days. Of course perspiration can cause yellowing but that is a weird pattern for sweat. Yikes - I am afraid of bleach, hope it works out for you.

That sounds reasonable, it could be something about the cream. Maybe you can try some dryer version of the cream or wait longer till it completely absorbs.

Tanya, I don't wear foundation. I put an untinted moisturizer on the front of my neck in the morning - maybe oil in it is causing it? It looks like these stains are where the collar may come into contact with my front neck..
If I can get rid of them I will try to skip the morning cream and see if they appear anyway.

I am sorry about the stains. Do you think they could be from make-up if you wear foundation?

I was doing laundry today and have noticed yellowish stains on the top sides of all my white shirts and a white blazer collars. At first I could not figure out what would have caused them but now I begin to think if collar popping is causing it? Dies anybody else have this problem with shirt collars?
I have attached a picture - not very good but I marked the places where this yellowish stains are.
I washed them - did not work. I soaked them in oxi clean - did not work. Now I am soaking one shirt in the bleach to see if it helps. Any ideas what else can be done to get rid of those stains and how to prevent them in the first place?

ETA: Reporting back: soaking collars in warm water with bleach seems to remove the stains - YAY! :-)
