I have ponte knit pants from Seven that say dry clean only. I hand wash in cold water and air dry. I have had them for two years and haven't noticed any ill effects. I think the stretch is starting to wear out, but after two winters of heavy wear, I guess that is not surprising.

Bella turned me onto Dryel for at home dry cleaning. Maybe try that?

Yes, you'll be fine. I would wash them as little as possible though, and in fact encourage you to spot clean if possible. I read an article about the Levis denim guru and he washes his jeans in the bathtub, too high maintenance for me. But I did like what he said about spot washing them.

I just purchased the Chelsea ponte jeans, and they say dry clean only....seriously? If I wash in cold and don't dry do you suppose I'll be okay? Who wants to dry clean everyday pants.

Thanks ladies !
