Thanks ladies for your input. I think Gigi makes a good point though, if they stretch at all it probably won't be enough to make them comfortable. I think I'll save my pennies to replace with something I love that's better quality:)

I guess if you are worried that they would become unusable by someone else if you ruin them by stretching than don't try it. If your plan is for giveaway than why not try to stretch, and if it fails than you can giveaway. If it works you can keep. No harm in trying.

I once took a pair of synthetic shoes to my cobbler for stretching. He said that sometimes they'll stretch, sometimes not. He said there's no way to know until you put them on the stretcher. Even then, sometimes they'll stretch but shrink back after a while. I'm guessing that even if your material would stretch, it wouldn't stretch to give you a full half size bigger. I think it might be worth a shot if, say, one of the shoes was just a bit too tight in one spot and needed just a small stretch.

I think it only works with natural materials. :-/

Life's too short for uncomfortable shoes.

Do techniques for stretching shoes only work with genuine leather or suede? Will man-made materials stretch?

I'm trying to decide right now whether to keep or donate these shoes as I plan on making a haul to the goodwill later. I like the way they look but wish they were a 1/2 size bigger. I decide to do Angie's wet feet trick but then thought maybe won't work with material.

Should I keep or pass? Thanks for any input!
