I just got price adjustments on 2 pairs of shoes but I did it within 2 weeks, almost one week, of price change.

So I know you've already geared up for it but want to add encouragement. You are a regular customer and have these customer benefits and you and DH just did not coordinate.
I know Nordie's is legendary for customer accomodation, but I agree that we usually have some kind of moral filters for what's appropriate to ask. I would not ask for a price adjustment on something I bought 2 mos ago and then went on end-of-season sale. So hopefully there's a balance between responsible consumerism and good customer service.

I worked in the CS dept at Nordies -- people do this all the time. They'll be able to apply the triple points retroactively as well.

Down in the customer service area they could do this for you without a problem I would think. That's what they are there for

It seems worth a try. I think asking for help works in situations like this because, technically, you could just return and then repurchase a few minutes later, right? Sales staff can often be really helpful in situations like this if you ask for their advice on how to handle situations like yours.

Thanks Rae, I was hoping you'd weigh in! Good to know, I feel better about going in now. I really didn't want them to think I was abusing their generous return policy. Thanks!

I'd go to the customer service area and explain that your husband forgot to use your card for the triple points. They may be able to honor it for you. Also, they will give credit to the original SA, which other SAs don't always know they are supposed to do.

ETA: I don't think it's tacky. People ask for exceptions all the time. Doesn't hurt to try if you are polite about it. :)

One day last week, I explained NAS to DH, and mentioned he might want to check it out since he's been complaining about his jeans being too large.

LOL, that night he comes home a bit later than expected, with a shopping bag full of jeans. Apparently, he ran in at 9:30 pm, and walked out with some very happy picks. Men!

On top of it, most of the jeans he bought weren't even NAS-priced. Sigh.

On top of it, again - it just so happened to be my personal triple points day. Argh.

Anyway, my question is this - is it tacky to take back his purchases and ask the SA to do a quick return on his card/repurchase on my Nordstrom debit? Even if I can't get triple points, at least I can get points towards a note.

The total purchase price was enough that I'm considering at least asking. I bought him a few pairs of premium denim before he decided to train for Ironman, so those are the pairs (and then some) that he replaced.

So. Tacky? TIA!
