I would confirm a price before you agree to the alterations just in case. My last suit was a halter, and I'd had it for a while when I developed health issues that made neck-tying uncomfortable, so I crossed the halter ties in back and sewed them into the back of the suit - making it look and function like a cross-back. </p> <p>I wouldn't mind doing it again, except that the last time I did it I was dealing with a suit that was unwearable already, so if it didn't turn out there was no loss. Suits are so expensive, I'm hesitant to buy one knowing that I'm going to need to experiment with it before it's wearable. </p> <p>Does anyone happen to know whether Nordstrom might make an alteration like this? I'd feel more comfortable leaving it up to their expertise... </p>
