If they're going to skimp on the quality and give it such a generous fit and a lot of stretch, why can't they go down to a 0? Even a 00 isn't asking too much. I looooved the rise on those jeans and they looked smashing on me for about a day. Even though I line dried them and took such good care of them, they still grew to the point of being unwearable, and there was no way to size down. I was looking for some white skinnies so I went to jcrew to try them on. They only had the dark wash which I tried and 27 was the clear winner. So I ordered them online in white and also the cropped matchsticks (clamdiggers) in the dark wash. Both were too large and the cropped ones were definitely more stretchy and therefore slightly bigger so I went down to the 26. In general I find the seats of jcrew bottoms to be a bit roomy and they do grow a bit although my white matchsticks are pretty stiff through the thigh. Also, I'd probably have to hem them right at the ankle and then maybe I could tuck them.</p> <p>Ana, I recommend DKNY skinnies for boots. I bought the 2 and they do grow a lot but I found them to be ultra skinny through the leg for boots (like leggings almost) and I only wear them with tunic length tops so the growth in the hips is hidden. Plus they are at least a 9" rise and $50. </p> <p>Ladies, I also have "curvy" thighs and after reading this blog I wouldn't call them anything else! In fact, I like them now. When I was younger I did not like them at all, but after going through my first pregnancy something in my brain changed (because my thighs certainly did not) and I started seeing them in an attractive light. Now, there remain plenty of styles that do not flatter them like tops that are the wrong length but a great pair of jeans looks great. They were great - I had three salespeople bringing me jeans to try on. I just flaked about the skinny jeans (don't remember the brand) - I should've bought them but I feared I was too old for them, and now I'm kicking myself!! </p> <p>But the good news is that there are tons of styles and choices now out there with higher rises!! So do try - if you don't have a NJC, go to a department store that offers a variety of jeans, early in the day, when you have time to try on many different pairs. </p> <p>As for length, I was told by the salespeople that for skinny jeans you want to hem them for high heels, then you kinda just scrunch them up to wear with flats. Either way, the trend is to wear them on the long side. I liked them a lot so I bought the matchsticks. I needed a size larger (29 instead of 28) because apparently the skinnys have no elastic, while the claim diggers had 2%. I'm not sure if I love the matchsticks. Probably because I wish I was less pear shape - I have a curvy bum and meaty thighs. They are more straight legged than skinny. I have actually analyzed jeans and determined that the length of the back rise is just as important as the front rise, and these jeans have way too long of a back rise. They have changed their fit. It's smaller than it was last season. Good for rectangles. It was a good fit on me. It worked for small pears and it will probably work for hours glasses.
