I agree with Runcarla—these look fine, but my personal preference would be to have them tailored a bit.

Jenni NZ, thanks for letting me know it's not too noticeable.
Star, yes, I'm starting to adopt your approach of living with this fit!
missvee, thanks for letting me know they don't *have* to be altered.
Angie, yes, I did try a size down. They were too small in the waist. Great to know that the fit seems workable enough to consider the other colors!
Vildy, thanks for the great alteration tips.
Shevia and CarolS, thanks for letting me know I'm not alone in the too-flappy-pants-thigh boat. :)
Runcarla, love the idea of custom tailoring and turning this into a signature pant look.

Thanks to you all for your feedback. It was an easy choice to keep the red because it goes with so many things in my closet. It is such a help to know that the fit is manageable enough that I can consider the other colors. I'm about at my limit for how much time I can invest in searching for pants, and it's good to know that I have options that can work. Angie, thanks for pointing out these pants!

I recognize these fit challenges too. I like the slouchier look and many of my pants looks just like this, but it depends how you feel about it.

Red pants are fantastic. Maybe would be worth tailoring for a custom fit? If you love the fabric and style after multiple wears, they might very well become your signature pant and worth duplicating in other colours.

Just weighing in to empathize with this particular fit issue. By the time a tailored pant fits me in the waist I am totally swimming in the seat and thighs.

I like 'em! *If* you were going to alter them, I would have them
taken in at the rear halves of the side seams only and leave the front
halves of the side seams alone. This removes the extra fabric from back upper thighs and under seat.

Waving at my pants twin! I love our RL pants, and wear mine often. They launder and press well too.

Grace, did you by any chance try a size down too?

Mine fit less fluidly, but are still fluid.

As missvee suggests, it's an easy alteration if you want a more streamlined fit.

I vote try the black and navy too.

Hmmm..they’re fairly loose even on the model, so maybe that’s just the way they’re supposed to fit. It’s an easy alteration if you’d prefer a slightly trimmer fit, but I think they look good as they are.
As to duplicating them, you’ll know best whether the cost of alteration (if you decide to do it) is worth it, or whether you’d rather keep hunting.

They look great from the front but a bit baggy from the side view. I have the same fit issue sometimes. I only wear jeans and cords informally so I live with it.

Hi Grace, they do look a little baggy on the thigh area. I am not sure I would have noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out? The outfit looks good overall to me!

Hello, I followed Angie's lead a few weeks ago and ordered the red Lauren pants. I struggle with finding dress pants that are loose enough for my proportionately large waist and tailored enough for my narrow thighs. I decided to keep the red pair because I have very few pants that currently fit and was willing to compromise on fit if needed for this one pair.

My question is, do you think the fit is good enough to duplicate? I was able to find them in my size in navy and black, but am not sure whether to keep them. I will definitely use them, but don't want to keep them if the fit isn't right. Maybe I'm being overly picky about the fit?

The photos show the pants after a full day's wear at work sitting at a desk, so they are a little bagged out/creased. They were comfortable. I ordered the smaller and larger versions of the red (which I returned) since I can't go down in size (waist) or up in size (thighs).

Thanks for looking and for your input!
