My old boss (male), a native Californian living in California, would always wear cowboy boots with his three piece suits because he longed to be taller -- and of course boots have *heels*. You never really noticed -- until he took out his wallet which he kept in his boot, lol.

I wear 'em like Janet does.

I think the boots in and of themselves are not "young" at all, so go for it! And you have a sense of your own comfort level and what is appropriate, so use that as a guideline for styling these boots.

If you're not dead, then you're not too old for them. I have a pair I wear with jeans. Even though I live in cowboy country, I am not a cowboy, and so I do not wear a big belt buckle or other western clothing (fringe, etc.) with them. I don't want to wear a costume. Mine are brown with classic stitching on them.

I think cowboy boots are one of those classic pieces that work for everyone. I would err on the side of a less loud pair (some have lots of rhinestones and stitching in bold colors) for one's with more classic colors (only one or two colors and minimal design on them). I think they look great with both bootcuts and skinny jeans when the rest of the outfit does not have western elements, this way it is only one western item in the outfit. Good luck searching for your perfect pair!

I live in the southwest and they are very, very common around here. I think they are age appropriate as long as you don't wear them with short skirts like the young girls do.

I have two pairs of cowboy boots, despite being a city girl from the mid-Atlantic, and if someone dares to tell me I have to stop wearing them ten years from now, they're just going to be disappointed!

I wear mine with slim-legged pants (skinnies or straight-leg jeans) tucked into them, also with bootcuts, and with skirts and dresses. I don't go cowboy-ish with the rest of my look -- I pretty much just treat them like I would any other mid-calf height boot.

In fact, this spring I fell head over heels in love with this pair, but they were not available in my size, and apparently they were a very limited edition item. I am *still* searching for them!

So, short answer, if you love them, wear them! Age is irrelevant. :-)

I think it depends on where you live. When I was on assignment in Texas, everyone wore them. They were actually considered business professional and worn with a suits at one of my clients.

Here is the conservative midwest, bootcut jeans would go well with them and look stylish as opposed to costumey.

Not sure about other parts of the country!

Love cowboy boots and I do not think you are too old for that look at all. I also think they are more frequently worn in different parts of the country.

Yes, I think quite a few ladies across the country wear cowboy ( Western) boots--most appropriate for jeans.

If you're interested in wearing boots with skirts, I'm with Cocolion in aiming for cowboy-esque but more refined. These seem easier to do, to my eye, with light or medium toned browns-tan, wheat, cognac or maybe grays, if one has light skin, or medium to richer, darker tones for deeper complexion--trying to have lower contrast between leg and boot--and with warm-toned fabrics--late summer/early fall kind of thing.

Cowboy boots worn with bootcut jeans, baby bootcuts or straightlegs are a forever classic combination at any age - male or female. I don't think you are too old for that look at all. My 72 year old client has black cowboy boots that she wears with bootcuts. She looks wonderful.

How about a boot with a toned down cowboy vibe? In other words, not the real thing, just Cowboy-ish.
http://www.zappos.com/hush-pup.....st=fcl%3A0
I would wear the black ones under bootcut or flare pants, or with black skinny jeans.
http://www.zappos.com/dingo-bo.....st=fcl%3A0
These would go great with rolled boyfriend jeans or with a skirt or shorts.

I am taking my adopted granddaughter to buy cowboy boots in Nashville at the end of the month. All of the young girls are wearing them - styling them with short skirts or dresses, jackets, etc.
I know I am too old for that look. I would love a pair of cowboy boots. How does a 59 year old woman wear them or should I leave them alone? Any and all suggestion would be great. I won't get mad if you tell me to pass the cowboy boots up.
Vickie
