They did their dress rehearsal for the elementary school kids, and so many of the little ones kept asking, "Who was the witch?" The newly established Drama Club chose to charge admission ($7/ticket for reserved seats in the first four rows, and $5 for general admission) to help get their program off the ground. They had an even lower budget production last year for which they didn't charge admission, but they want to establish and grow the program. So unfortunately, my mum was unable to see it. She really wanted the part of the Queen and after auditions, the directors decided she was perfect for the role (I am so glad she wanted that part, as she would NOT have been a good fit for Alice or the Cat). Thier performances were this past weekend, and they did really well.&nbsp;</p> <p>It is a low-budget school production, so the set was built and painted by the shop class, and costumes weren't high budget. In my daughter's case, they had ordered a costume that was far too big, and she asked if it would be okay if her parents helped, so she chose the dress she wanted, got it approved by the directors, and I purchased it. I was happy to do so and will donate/leave it with the school for future use.</p> <p>Anyway, this was probably the highlight of her senior year, and I am so relieved that things went well! We're home from school today, as we had an ice storm that has left about 1 cm of ice covering everything. We're lucky that our trees are okay so far and that our power has not been affected! </p>
