Not the yawn per se (yes, probably legitimately tired), but the non-reciprocation. </p> <p>Although I am introverted, I am also very friendly, and I speak to everyone I pass on the street in my neighbourhood, wave to cars on the street, etc. I am quite sure most people either think I'm not talking/waving to them, or that I am a nutter to be avoided. I don't care; I want a friendly neighbourhood; therefore, I do my part. If they don't do theirs, then that's their failure!</p> <p>As it happens, this little introvert is friendly with so many people in town that my Dad and sister-in-law joke that I should run for mayor. I met a neighbor tonight, and not in a way I would’ve chosen. </p> <p>My sweet son wanted a nighttime snack. We recently got him several frozen food things—this one was spicy meatballs—that are cooked like the old Birdseye frozen veggies, by putting the bag in boiling water for 20 minutes. </p> <p>To cut to the chase, I was opening the windows on the balcony so air could go in there, and be sucked into the kitchen, to get the smoke from the burning dishtowel out of the kitchen faster—we had just opened that window &amp; my son was setting up a fan. I noticed a guy looking right at him, through the kitchen window. I said something not very polite to him and to my mortification, instead of running away, he came over to the window! To my further mortification, he said he lives two flights above us and had noticed the smoke coming in his kitchen window! </p> <p>Yes, I had turned on the wrong burner &amp; lit the dishtowel on fire, producing so much smoke that a neighbor came down two floors to investigate the fire. </p> <p>Are you laughing yet? I set my alarm clock for 7:15 am, had early coffee, dressed and out the door by 9:00am.&nbsp; I wore a very comfortable, two tone denim, button front, swingy dress.&nbsp; Younger people have complimented me on it.&nbsp; My hair. was neat and I had light makeup. Oh, and I love my new Born loafers I wore.&nbsp; They are denim color, white and tan.</div><div>Anyway, the raspberry sherbet was not easy to locate, as I had been warned.</div><div>As I was going into the third grocery store (beginning to feel slightly panicky&nbsp; and wishing I had started earlier) an older gentleman was coming out and i smiled at him as I do everybody.&nbsp; He yawned.&nbsp; Do any of you have any comment how you would have felt, had this been you?</div><div>They had the sherbet at this store, I purchased it and had it delivered at 10:45am.&nbsp; BTW, this was for a reception for a woman in her seventies getting married her first time!<br /></div> </p>
