We had a snapping turtle for a year or two when I was a kid. He was only about 8" in diameter and we had to roll ground beef to resemble worns in the winter. Somehow with a gray sky, wearing bright turquoise and yellow seemed too high contrast so instead I opted for cobalt blue or grape purple with berry accents, and some black as well. </p> <p>1. Cobalt and white striped knit blazer, berry pink tee, black circle midi skirt, burgundy mesh tights and burgundy pumps with long pearl necklace. </p> <p>2. Purple hi-low hem dress with magenta cardigan, black beaded necklaces, and colorful tweed and black patent ballet flats. </p> <p>In retrospect I wished I'd paired the outfit in 2 with my orange pumps. That color combination would have rocked my socks. Well, something to try later!</p> <p>3 is a bonus shot from this weekend. My sister and I encountered a woman who was taking her rather large tortoise (or turtle?) for a walk at the lake, which I thought was too amusing not to share. Apparently they enjoy the taste of buttercups. </p>
