NOT Barneyish at all! I really like it (#4 is too much for me, but hey, I'm not MaryK). Your dog is really cracking me up.

Pil, I have to admit that I would never have thought of Barney or floozies when looking at your pictures!
I like the skirt a lot, especially with the denim jacket. I'm not as crazy about it with the matchy sweater and houndstooth together. Maybe with a simple shell it would work.

Your dog is a hoot!

I have nothing really useful to add, but the title of your post makes me laugh every time I see it. :o) Barney's floozy sister... Because that is the first word that springs to mind when I think of Pil: floozy.

Sylvie, I don't have a top like that. Do you think a fine knit or something more blouse like? I do have some holiday and girls night out events coming up. If I find a top that works it would save me looking for a dress, and the top could also dress up jeans.

KathyL, the boots came from our local Younkers but it was probably four years ago. They are Anne Klein 2 - Grappa. Actually quite comfortable.

QueenMum, KatieKat, krishnidoux, Rachylou, Isis and kellygirl (hope I got everyone) thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. My four legged girl thanks you too. She is the itchy girl I took to the vet in my last WIW post and she is doing much better.

I really like the skirt! I would say that pairing it with a darker top/jacket is best. It makes the skirt stand out more. #4 looks a bit too matchy-matchy (as Una said), and #3 feels like both tops are competing for attention (bright skirt vs pattern). I do like the shirt with the jacket on in #1 though!

I'm not sure I can get past your dog's hilarious pose in #1, #2. Okay, okay, I think I can. How cute!

I like it with the denim jacket #1 but I'm not sure I love it styled without it. It looks a little too "corporate" to me without the denim. The skirt seems to fit fine - not overly tight but it is fitted. I would avoid wearing the jacket and skirt together myself. I think you could wear the skirt with many other jackets - esp. cropped.

Alaskagirl, it does feel a bit snug but not uncomfortably so. I'm optimistically hoping my thyroid finally submits to cooperating and my clothing will be back on an even keel. I never really see the backside and was afraid there might just be too much "there" there.

Well Sylvie, it IS an evening fundraiser : ) but no fashion show. Silent auction and a speaker so not a whole lot of up and around activity. More business casual I suppose. There will be a bit of everything there attire wise - even a prom dress in a past year.

What is your venue?

I quite like #1/#2. I think you've styled it well.

In #4, the cardigan + skirt is a lot of a single bright color. I think it can be pulled off, but you have to own the look. The cardigan just doesn't have enough structure to make it work as a bright, business casual suit. But if you were going to a fashionable event, a silver sparkly top would give you a very glamorous look with a nod to the suit effect. I'm thinking something like an evening fundraiser with a fashion show. Or for a girls' night out.

Barney's sister was a floozy? LOL!

I [refer it with the darker jacket. The last one is too matchy to my eye. But I don't see anything Barney here.

The fit looks fine to me with a topper. Does it feel tight? I often avoid pencil skirts because I can't wear them without a jacket.

This purple Halogen pencil skirt just came the other day and I am in love, perhaps foolishly so. I ordered it not realizing it is the same color as my Halogen tipped sweater. The sweater was recently exchanged for a larger size, which fits better. Yes, I knew they were both purple but not the *same* purple. I have an event to attend next week which would be the perfect venue for this skirt - if it doesn't look foolish on me.

I do like it in picture 1 with the denim jacket and boots. However, what do you think of the fit - pics 2 and 3? It is a bit more snug than my black pencil skirt. Pic 4 is the Barney's floozy sister version. I know the colors are the same, but it IS entirely too much, isn't it? Is there a way to style it so the two pieces work together? What about a denim or chambray shirt? Or nude hose? The only other shoes that would be much different would be a pair of gray flats or my Sam Edelman suede booties.

Thanks for looking and my apologies in advance if I've hurt anyone's eyes!
