I wore the Docs to my knitting club last night and they were a big hit. </p> <p>San, they're 20-eyelet docs. I usually wear a 7.5, but since Docs only come in whole sizes, I went down to the equivalent of a 7. I would try a cheap innersole around the house for a few days. My feet are on the narrow side too, and I find this takes up a bit of room. I have the same problem with Docs, which is why I don't yet own any. I have the combo of narrow heels/low instep and medium-with-bunion toes, which is super annoying (so things often slip in the heel and rub on the toes). One thing that I've found that helps is sticking a 3/4 length insole in them, which takes up some of the room in the instep but doesn't cramp my toes. I use an OTC orthotic type because my feet need the support anyway, but if you didn't need that you could probably get away with a cheaper one. </p>
