Michelle, the heels look like a medium brown wood-like finish on all the Tali styles except these:
Paloma Snake Print (has a light warm gray patent covered heel that matches the cap toe)
Black/Black Patent and Ocelot Haircalf/Black Patent (heel on these is black patent)
Dark Silver Metallic (heel looks like black leather)
Black Dot Snake Print/Black Patent (heel looks like black wood)

I agree with Liz, the heels don't draw attention to themselves. I think they all look nice and seem in harmony with the look of the shoe.

On the nude-like shades, I see the twine as being a little cooler and lighter in tone, like a taupe (and it would be my pick for a nude look for you), the canyon rose as a little more pink, a tone I would call it beige, and the sandstone as a little more yellow and one I would call tan.

Love your shoe choices. I have two pairs of Sam Edelman flats with metal toe caps and dearly love them both.

The Coach bag is truly lovely.

I hope you enjoy all of your new purchases.

Michelle, the wood-look heel is a fairly common feature on a wedge shoe. In fact, it is so common that I almost didn't notice it or think to mention it. I think it's some type of printed veneer that wraps around the heel.

It is a contrast to the color to the shoe itself, but not in a bad way, to my mind. It does make the shoe slightly less formal, but these shoes have the zigzag stitching around the vamp, and the somewhat unstructured bow detail, so they are not a ultra formal shoe. Certainly office appropriate, by all means. (They aren't casual.)

Sharon, I was thinking of the ballet pink but ultimately decided not to go for them. I just know that I'd reach for the wedges more often, much as I loved the metal cap toe. :)
Are you able to answer the question above re. the wood look of the heel?
Your reply

You've gotten good descriptions on the colors. I just wanted to say how gorgeous your new bag is! And glad you found your favorite low wedges are still available in an assortment of colors!

I like the metal toe flats, too. Very pretty. Are you considering ballet pink or black?

Thanks very much, guys. Y'all are fabulous with descriptions. :)
Liz, you mention the wood look of the heel...Is it a contrast tone to the rest of the shoe? I didn't realize that at all. Or am I misinterpreting?
I think I'll be happy with the dark silver and the black and white snake. :, though a true nude shoe has a bit of appeal too. Decisions!
Your reply

You have some good descriptions. The sandstone is a rosey tan midtone. I think it is a pretty neutral, but a lot would depend on one's skin tone.
Lightest to darkest are twine, canyon rose, sandstone. All are shades of rose-tinted tan. I don't see any looking grey.
The pattern of the black and white snake that Angie mentions looks like equal amounts of black and white, if you are interested. It looks like a very versatile shoe because the pattern is small.
I love the new bag. If you are considering the rose gold shoes, they look more rose, less gold in the photo than the bag, but I think that they would blend. Twine is probably the closest color from the photos.

Ok. The colours seem to have been sorted. But I have to tell you I feel so validated - I've been tempted by a satchel just like the one you got. I feel so *in*

Twine is a cool colored very light taupe, tending toward a light gray

Canyon rose is slightly darker than twine, and has a rosy/peachy very light “flesh” color

I'm guessing that twine would be a better match for your flesh tone than canyon rose would be.

Sandstone is more like canyon rose, about a tone or two darker. I’d call it a light tan color.

The wedge heel for all three of the shoes above has a stacked-wood look covering.

Paloma is a low-contrast snakeskin, very light taupish in color. Maybe a very slight rose tone. The toe cap and the wedge heel are solid light grayish taupe, very similar to the color of the twine shoe.

I would have called ocelot just plain old leopard print. Dark caramel background with black spots.

I really like the ballet flats. They are an extremely pale blush/taupe color. The toe cap is silver, but it has a cut-out pattern -- straight lines and angles. I'd call the patten vaguely 1930s ish. Hard to describe, but i"m sure you'd be able to tell a lot more by feeling it, if you ordered them. I'm not a ballet flat fan, but I really like these. They seem both distinctive and versatile.

Thanks for these helpful descriptions, Carole! I really appreciate that.
Angie, you made my day by telling me there was a black and white pair and thereby putting an end to a shoe search I've hhad going on for literally years. :)
One other colour I forgot to inquire about. Sandstone? Is that like a beige? If so, is it a pretty shade? If not...what is it? :)
Your reply

Oh and the ocelot calf hair is black cap toe and trim with tan and dark brown animal print...quite nice, too! I love an animal print shoe especially when it incorporates black and brown...then you can wear it with almost anything! Hope that helps:)

Stunning new bag, and lovely to see you again, Michelle.

I like the Black Dot Snake Print for you too. It has a black toe box and heel, and a speckled black and white patterned body - quite subtle. Gorgeous with your dark hair.

The Canyon Rose is a light peachy nude. Warmer than your bag.

The Paloma is a cool light neutral snake skin - quite grey - which I think would work well with your warm weather wardrobe.

Hi Michelle! Isn't it wonderful when something we love is available and "on sale"! The Canyon Rose is a pale blush color....if not veering towards pink....twine is a nude/beige color (quite versatile I would think) and I only see Paloma snake skin which i would say is shades of gray and nude snake skin pattern, quite nice and versatile, too! Love the cap toe ballerina..so pretty..is that another shoe you are considering? Your new bag is lovely!

Hello lovelies!!

I'll do a personal update some other time, but for now I wanted to both send hugs to you all, show off one of the new purchases I've made to update my formerly sad spring wardrobe, and solicit your advice on another deal that's too good to pass up.

Let's do business before pleasure, shall we?

My favourite shoes probably of all time were my Cole Haan Tali Lace wedges from years ago. I have them in a pewter metallic and have very nearly worn them into the ground. Imagine my absolute joy when I discovered that not only does the style still exist, but they're currently insanely reduced on Amazon AND can be delivered to Canada!
I'm obviously replacing my dark silver pair, but at these prices I feel I'd be remiss not to grab another style. This is where I need you. Could you kindly describe some of the colours whose meanings aren't so clear? I'm looking at you, Paloma, twine and Canyon Rose! Also, if someone could kindly describe what the ocelot calf hair looks like I'd be eternally greatful. My ideal would be a white or cream leather with a black patent cap toe, but alas I don't think that exists. Anyway, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ.....id=ATVPDKI...

Also, what do you think of these adorable ballet flats?
http://www.additionelle.com/en.....12425.html

And lastly, I had to share my exciting new bag purchase (see below). The rose gold colour I chose is something of a wild card for me, but I fell hopelessly in love with the incredibly clever design and the quality felt simply fabulous. I absolutely know it's going to be a workhorse for me throughout the summer and likely beyond.

Thanks, ladies, and I look forward to catching up with you all about fashion and so much more. I've done a ton of spring shopping, so stay tuned for pics, questions etc.
Your post
