@Staysfit - have you looked at Soia & Kyo puffers? They are fashionable and designed in Montreal, so they are made for very cold winters. I have one from a few years ago from them that I love, and I know Angie has a few wool coats from them too.

Thanks Suz, your opinion means a lot to me since you are familiar with the climate where I live!

Bijou, I work hard to avoid black, but I am highly tempted by the Bernardo mixed media leather jacket in the sale. If I could find something similar made in navy it would be mine in an instant!

Angie always recommends those Metro puffers and with good reason. The colours this year look great. Also, the Bernardos are terrific coats for a warmer climate than yours. I perfectly agree. I tried them on and knew right away they would not have worked in upstate NY/ eastern Ontario. You made the right choice.

Lovely picks! The green TNF caught my eye, too. Hope they both work for you.

With such a cold climate puffers are an essential and having the right puffer for the conditions makes so much sense.

I hope they work out, I always love how you stay away from black which is often a default for me, especially when it comes to coats.

Will have to look for that dark green Bernardo and the plum Patagonia Having puffers in multiple lengths sounds a good strategy!

These sound promising, excited to hear how they work for you! I like that you have a full range of puffers and hope you can find all the accessories early in the season when the selection is good.

I looked at the Bernardo puffer in store and the North Face assortment as well. This is a sad commentary on our harsh winters, but none of them looked insulating enough!

In a sale that seems to be about tailored coats and jackets, I ordered two new puffers! A green TNF Metro puffer, and a navy Patagonia water resistant down puffer jacket. I love the happy color of the TNF! They also had a plum, but it’s not a great color for me. There is a really nice dark green Bernardo that I looked at for a very long time but I don’t think it will be warm enough for my climate. It”s poly fill, not down, so I passed it over. It’s very nice if anyone is interested. It would have been my first pick because the color is so elegant.

If they work out I will have a complete collection of warm puffers. One sleeping bag, one stadium length, and one sporty and short. I also have light weight down sweater type puffers which are still going strong that I purchased either last year, or two years ago for my fall walks.

(I had to retire two puffers of these lengths when I did my closet edit. Both had become so pulled and frayed one my left side kind of in the back over my shoulder. I think it was damage from my seat belt because I carry my bags on the right.)

I did not look at the wool jackets online because I had purchased a Fleurette pea coat and Long dressy coat made of sumptuously soft Loro Piano wool last Spring when they were on sale. I’m waiting for winter accessories now! Scarves, hats and gloves to go with all these new coats!
