The down fill is not a deal breaker for me, my main concern is staying warm. I like the idea of a puffer for those really cold days.</p> <p>Louise - I wondered about the seaming, also. I'm an hour glass with rectangular tendencies. When I look at the rear view (view #4) of this coat, the vertical seams seem more pronounced to me than the horizontal seams. Nothing will keep you warmer. Unless you have a strong moral objection to down, it's a good coat and a great deal. </p> <p>Perhaps you could contact Eddie Bauer to ask how they harvest their down?
