They had no support at all. Technology has really changed. I do not know other riding boots. I had to sell my horse when I went to college. I've always worn Ariat heritage lacers because I wear a lot of leggings. They are fabulous for walking as they have tremendous cushioning and arch support. The riding boots gave the same insole but seem even splushier. I can't comment on any other brand of riding boot.
